Tireless thirties 1. How do you feel about your current age? It dosen't keep me awake. I feel better than ever. I can't think of anything I can't do based purely on the digits associated to the time of my birth. On the contrary, I learn new things quicker by accumulated experience, am more confident and willing to try than ever before. I started capoeira just recently and even then I wasn't the oldest new person there. 2. Have you accomplished what you thought you would by the time you reached that age you are? No. Not by a long shot, but then - I also did more things which were never on my 'list' to begin with. Am I despondent -no, feel like I wasted years - no, though I did burn some rubber here and there, but life's for the living not waiting to live. It's been a trade-off of sorts, something akin to not getting what you want, but what you need. Overall I'm happy, nevertheless I want to dig in some more in all aspects of my life. Career wise I share the same frustration as anyone in IT knows. As you creep toward the finish line you discover it to be only a mirage. I'm still studying, never thought I'd still be studying - or might study indefinitely. 3. What big birthday are you looking forward to next? 40 in 4 years. I remember on my mum's 40th birthday she told me that 'life begins at 40'. I sensed that she wasn't by any means referring to worldly measures or yardsticks of 'life'. For however accomplished I may be at this point - is this all there is to life? ________________
