Asians are flooding all of the elite universities in the states

I ain't mad at the ones that come from a modest background, legitimately work hard and out perform everyone else who'd rather watch football or reality tv

It's like you want people to get ahead based on 'merit' (jobs, military, sports, academics, etc) but when it happens too much or to the wrong demographic, suddenly U got a problem

    That's cold blooded :p

A lot of people use 'merit' as shorthand for 'what my ethnic group does' and don't really mean excellence against an objective standard, hence all the 'white male as most discriminated against' victim discourse, by both African-Americans/Latinos on one end and Asians/Jews on the other.

I only skimmed over the article...but what's your take on it?

Asians being an over represented group at top colleges, thus being subject to 'quotas' has been in the news for a while now

I think it is a subtle way of saying, "You people are too smart and sophisticated and it makes us white people feel inferior." I have been to school with Asian students and haven't felt that way around them.
