WW/BM Smutty Romance That DOESN'T Stereotype - Themes

A little help from the community here. I both love to read and want to write erotic smut with a deep dose of romance for what we're all into here. the problem for me is that it almost is impossible for me to perceive what the readers of this type of story want to experience as themes.

In short, I see a lot of BW/WM stories and they basically look like Harlequin romances with the lead female being Halle Berry and not Angelina Jolie. But when it comes to WW/BM, it's either cuckolding and/or REALLY stereotypical thuggery and over-sexed, arrogant, alpha males. And again, there is a place for all that. But I want to write something more.

For the ladies: what are the males in these stories, particularly the Black males, possessing that makes you want to root for them to get the female? What feelings do they inspire in you? How do those things correspond to your real life and your search for love?

And for the fellas, same thing. What ladies do you like to see portrayed? What values do they have? Do they mesh with the women you chat up in the real world? Etc?

A little help here would be badass because I want to write romantic smut that both genders can fap to. Hard. XD
