Would you ever marry someone who never wants kids?

There's nothing wrong with being anti-kid or never having children. Having kids is not always a guarantee that kids will take care of their parents when they're older.

I'm just saying that this is all that I can mostly justify to myself is a positive reason to have children.

I'm too concerned they'd come out and I wouldn't like them and we'd have nothing in common and then they would hate me forever for being a bad mum. Not worth the effort.

If I wanted kids, that would be fine too....nothing wrong with it at all. I am very happy that people want children, because mostly people are happy about it.

I just don't understand why people want kids.

It may be funny but I have a hard time believing any woman is looking to be a Single Parent on purpose.

am sure they are some ladies that don't want to be in a serious relashionship and wan't kids also ...but also can be a lady that she thought her bf was serious about the relationship and turn out he was not and left...
and can be many more reasons so don't think only is unplanned/unintended pregnancy ...and btw i am not single i guess before you talk make sure you know a little about someone

and what i said before is because i don't plan in the future to have kids am done with this .. if i ever get divorse and happen to find someone and want to be with him i make sure he want the same No kids

Maybe. I mean I do want children. I want to have a family with a special someone, and live in a house and all of that. But things don't always work out the way we plan it. So if my situation in the future is at that point, and I love the girl then yes.

 

If I am not married or in a relationship that will lead to having children after I have obtained my Ph.D., I plan to have or adopt a child on my own. There is a group called Single Mothers by Choice, which is made up of mostly professional women who wish to be mothers.

Yes, it is preferrable to raise a child with a partner, but for women who want to biological mothers, we only have a certain number of years to do this.

 

good thread. im a guy and im 29 and i have to say that i dont think kids are a good idea for a lot of people. people just pop them out without much thought and you can see the results. Everybody thinks its all going to be ok and everything works out. A kid is a sure fire way to stay in poverty or stay glued to a particular social strata.

I grew up poor and because of that I have very strong feelings against having kids. It was not uncommon to see young girls do stupid young things like having a kid while believing in forever as an equally young dumb man tells tales of forever while imparting his seed.

I become so blindingly angry when I see high school educated DUMB ASSES dragging a kid around and I can already see what that childs fate is. I become angry when I hear that people are DYING to have kids when its obvious that they are in such a backwards mental state that the kid is going to have a rough life. People forget to focus the self and become self sustaining before being relied upon by another life.

Have you ever met or seen a family where there IS love and the child was completely planned for? Have you ever seen a family where the parents did not fully develop as adults and yet the still had kids? IF you have seen both you will see that there is a big difference.

If adult really weighs the situation not having a child seems to make more sense, I mean, that is if you happen to care for your country, the world and your fellow man. FUCKING ADOPT A KID GOTDAMNITT. There are more than enough extra kids to go around. I think blindly having a kid is selfish, to me its saying "forget the world and its problems, this is my right, this is my world, this is my patch of land" Think about it.

Futhermore I think its really sad that most people have an inflated sense that reproduction is a god given right without really thinking it through. For some reason theres a big ol' disconnect between having a kid, the worlds population, the waning resources and the wars we fight.

On a personal level, I come from a family of drunks. I was sexually abused as a kid (not by family ya jerks!) I worked through all of that, but I feel like its in my blood and the last thing I want to do is impart my problems on my spawn. Although i should say that in some ways, I won the genetic lottery
