Would you date a "first timer?"

I KNOW there was a thread about this a while back, but I could not find it.

So would you date someone new to IR dating? I didn't think I would and had thought my man had been in a relationship with a white woman before (turned out it was a couple dates in high school thing).

However when I asked him why he hadn't, he said that every other white woman he had been attracted to, in his opinion could not really see the world through his eyes, but I could based on where and how I was raised. I found that to be very interesting. The example that he gave me was how a friend of his who married a white woman would come home furustrated at the subte racism he felt in his office and felt his wife brushed it off.

In turn, he asked wh I date black men exclusively an him in particular.

I'm glad my husband took a chance on me. I was young, too. Just 21 when we met. I dated a lot but no one outside of my race before him. He'd dated white women almost exclusively. I was pretty naive about a lot of things (race issues, relationships, sex, life in general) and he was a very patient man. lol
