I have never and could never date a "chubby" man - I myself am into keeping fit and I work hard to keep in shape, I prefer a guy who has that drive and a bit of get up and go, to want to keep in shape.

Everything about being fat is unattractive to me - health, drive, self pride etc.. obviously I'm not talking about someone who is slightly rounded..

I don't buy this bullshit about seeing past the fat - a guy has to be physically attractive as well as have a decent personality.. but that's just my opinion

Well, forgive me for sounding like a wench, but you can just hit the back button and see your way out of this thread. The conversation has already taken placce, and I refuse to listen to sanctimonious jerks who think putting people down in a thread about appreciating what we like is OK.

Oh, and you can drop the whole idea that people are overweight cause they don't take care of themselves. Its a blatant lie.

    Jebus.

Its not even about "seeing past the fat".
We were discussing what is attractive to people.
People do find different builds attractive you know.

Also, some people that are over the "ideal weight" are still very fit and active.
I know quite a few people that have "padding" that go religiously to the gym and are more fit tham most people.
I also know quite a few people that are skinny and not fit whatsoever.
Some people that are in their ideal weight are terribly unhealthy.. you can be terribly misslead by going by size alone.

However, I think that everybody should be able to "see past the fat" if the right person comes along...

I do highly appreciate physically fit people, and prefer a man that goes to the gym - that does not mean I must have him like a washboard...
My X was probably 20 lb overweight most of the time, and he did go to the gym religiously.. He had huge muscles, but the middle came with padding:) and quite frankly he looked better with that padding than without.
I never "saw pst the fat", i just prefered him with it.

I think its like you said in the other "chubby" thread.
All people of all sizes can be sexy.
Some people just look better skinny and some people look better with more weight on them.
I dont think either thread was ever about "seeing past the fat" - that chances the whole dynamics of both threads and insinuate that people dont find larger people sexy... but merely just "see past the fat"
    Thats sad.

I love your attitude about women and I salute you for it!!!

GD you're a rarity sweetheart most not all people who are overweight is because of eating habit and lack of exercise. Look around the world. If you love the padding and are proud of it you go girl. But please don't pretend that the majority of the overweight people are fit people in a bigger frame. It's simply not true. You happen to be the exception not the rule.

I agree with you on this FG, but some people are just really into the physical and for them they'll never give someone who doesn't appeal to them physically a chance period. I think it's good that at least they are honest about that. I also understand if you happen to be a very active person, say you like to hike or run, and the person you're with isn't physically able to participate with you then that might be an issue. I personally don't think like that, as long as someone didn't give me crap for doing things they couldn't or weren't interested in, I'm fine with that. I will agree that for some people there are health concerns to being markedly overweight, and that you'll find unhealthy people of all sizes. Like you said there are some people who stay very active and are above their ideal weight. I think as long as they're happy, ultimately that's all that matters.

Personally I've been attracted to men of all shapes and sizes. I've dated some men who were lean and well-defined like BMJ, and some who were the exact opposite. One of the sexiest men I knew was 5' 5" and about the size of the large guy that LA posted a page or 2 back, and I thought he was attractive as hell because he just had the greatest personality. He also happened to be a farmer and was really active, and could out work a lot of the thin guys I know. I never know what physical type I'll find attractive because it's the personality that grabs my attention and if that's attractive then the whole package becomes attractive.

    Another exception to the rule.

See what I got from that is you think I'm exceptional. ;)

Seriously though, looks like there are more exceptions than not, at least based upon replies in this thread.

I notice a trend with the women in their 30s and 40s in comparison to the girls in their 20s. The women in their 30s and 40s seem to be more open to padding as they put it. Is it because your peers are less likely to have hard bodies? And women in their 20s are more likely to go for more fit and atheletic guys, is that because they are in bigger abundance in your 20s. Thoughts ladies.
