as i've already said in prior posts, i do find chris boykin attractive. i just love funny men and he doesn't take himself too seriously...it comes down to who he is, not what he weighs.

and what happens when you god forbid, grow old and start putting on weight...??? what are we to look at then...???

Yes we all swoon over fit, hard-bodied men in these forums, but I think for most women reality is a lot different. When it comes to love, most of us will consider a guy's physical appearance as secondary to his personality. And if you're attracted to a guy for other reasons it makes him more physically attractive in your eyes as well...

In terms of just getting "turned on" though, well that definitely happens too! I wouldn't consider myself primarily attracted to chubby men, but I have *major* lust for a guy I know with a bit of a beer gut! He's attractive to me for unexplainable reasons - who knows why we're attracted to one another.

i still stand by the fact that women see past appearance and go for what is inside a person. i will say that i'm not 'turned on' by a man if he's overweight, i'm turned on because of who he is.

 

I'm afraid I'm going to sound a bit more shallow than the rest of the girls here and say that I'm really not attracted to chubby guys. Moobs bother me. I don't expect rock hard muscles and an eight pack (to be honest, I kind of dislike overly muscular men anyway. Those creepy abs that are always hard creep me out) but I don't like moobs and I don't find a pot belly 'cute.' I wouldn't personally date an overweight guy.

 

Thanks for starting this thread fam. It definitely illustrates the double standard and hypocrisy that some girls posess because none of them find over weight men primarily attractive but it's shallow when I say the same about their female counter parts. I guess the mystery of attraction continues.

I don't think anyone ever said you were being shallow, Andrae... only that there seemed to be a vibe of "hating" going on in a thread that was supposed to be about appreciating.

something about this whole argument is not sitting right with me... you can't *really* compare the two to be honest, it's like chalk and cheese.

women's bodies are like works of art, and more body fat in the right areas can be extremely aesthetically pleasing (surely even you, Andrae, can't deny that some of those women posted in the chubby chasers thread are visually appealing).

On men, however, more body fat is rarely something that's *lustful*. (that's certainly not to say that one can't find it attractive)

If I'm attracted to a guy who's "chubby" or out of shape or whatever, it's usually because of a combination of other attractive features that make the all over package a sexy one.

however, I can simply look at the body of a shapely woman with no other contributing factors and go "WOW, that's sexy".

 

And that right there is the horse shit hypocrisy I'm talking about. Btw the women shown have been models the best the fatty pool has to offer the same can't be said about the men chosen. I don't care one way or the other. I just detest hypocrisy.

I don't see how it can be attractive/acceptable for one gender to be overweight but not the other.

And besides what is "aesthetically pleasing" to one person might not be to another.

 

I'm not really seeing how it's hypocritical.

We were talking about appreciating curvy women, a few people got on their high horse about overweight girls being disgusting, unhealthy, lazy, unmotivated. Other people fought back and defended such a generalisation.

We also discussed the right for everyone to be attracted to whomever they should choose.

Same deal applies here! No one's bashing chubby men in this thread, pretty much everyone is saying that they are/have been attracted to overweight men at some point!

I'm just saying it's not really an equal comparison. It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine's talking about women's bodies being a thing of beauty whereas men's bodies are "like a jeep" - they're "utilitarian" :smt043
