It's that discussion of a parent's sex life, gay *OR* straight, is not appropriate with a young child. I won't deny her experiences were horrendous. And yes, people do handle them differently. As for single parent homes, be it fatherless or motherless, economic and social upbringing could also factor into their behavior. I've known some people who didn't have fathers and many of them are mentally healthy.

A little hint: Politicians hide their sexuality in order to get ahead in their careers. Many parts of the country and their districts can be pretty against homosexuality and LGBT rights. This is a given. It's similar to how porn stars or actors engage in interracial themed movies and they lose popularity. It's a common thing found.
