Jaded is probably not the right word for me. For me, it's more than just a few experiences, it's my lifestyle. Aside from a few tomboys in my childhood days I've had no relationships with women that I can recall. That's why it's not an intense feeling I suppose. This is probably why it's usually ex-boyfriends who do the violent stalking/killing. When you've never really had intimate relationships you're less dependent on them. I guess you could say I'm detached. PS: Throughout my school years it seems like women always dated guys that I disliked, guys who gave me a hard time, and this had to have had some effect on me.

Well, going by that logic, George Sodini was also a victim of psychological abuse. People often say: don't be afraid to approach girls, what's the worst that could happen? I remember reading on Wikipedia that low self-esteem, aggression, and depression (three Sodini characteristics) are some of the psychological consequences of rejection. I don't know if those three characteristics necessarily qualify him or Bobbitt as "menally ill" however.

Everybody has issues, it's just that some issues are worse than others and some are better at dealing with their issues than other people.

Forensic psychiatrist Michael Welner talked about how in our society a man's masculinity is dependent on his relationship with women, and without that relationship you won't be viewed as a man. From my experiences, both men and women put this type of pressure on men but I suspect that George Sodini chose not to shoot any men because he felt that women were more responsible. He was definitely not well balanced, I'll agree there.

I dont know if being turned down constitutes abuse but its definitely a huge blow. If a guy gets turned down or even laughed at by a woman he is going to need atleast 2 or 3 women giving him attention or a thumbs up to undo that damage.. Again with Bobbit, if she was abused why not pull a gun on him or stab him instead of commiting a "funny crime" by cutting his penis off..?!

Probably because it's one of the worst things you can physically do to a man. I think it was kind of fucked up how she went on Oprah and laughed about it with the audience. If it was a man who had eviscerated a female he wouldn't have even seen the light of day, let alone be welcomed on a talk show to laugh about it!

What really got me was that she said John still sends her cards and flowers on Valentine's day and Christmas but that she wants nothing to do with him. Not wanting anything to do with him is understandable but for a guy to not have hard feelings after you chopped his penis off is no small feat. ITS KINDA a hard thing to do though looking at it. they do it a lot in north east Africa, female genital mutilation.. Yerah it was the worst thing but going back to what you said about them fearing us, if you do decide to take a male on and try to hold your own you can only hope to get one shot. I think he was too much of a chump to abuse her that much.. But I guess since his penis was found and reattached he can move past that. I understand he did porn after the fact and that he had good responses from the industry.
