WIRE Star To Be "Adopted" On New 90210

'THE WIRE'S' TRISTAN WILDS MOVES TO '90210': Teen actor is the newest member of the CW's anticipated spinoff.

Tristan Wilds, who starred in two seasons of HBO's critically-acclaimed series "The Wire," will move from the drug-infested streets of Baltimore to glitzy Southern California as the newest cast member of the CW's revamped "Beverly Hills, 90210."

The actor will play Dixon, the adopted son of the Mills family, which consists of drunken grandmother Tabitha Mills (Jessica Walter),
Jessica's daughter-in-law Celia (Lori Loughlin)
and granddaughter Annie (Shenae Grimes). The family has moved to Beverly Hills because of Tabitha's alcoholism.

Wilds, 19, is best known for his breakout role as promising student-turned-Baltimore drug dealer Michael Lee in the final two seasons of "The Wire."

90210 the next generation? heh... heh-heh... I remember finding it curious that there were "never" any black regular characters though there were certain characters that were recurring during certain story arcs.. an athlete Brandon was tutoring... a black female on the college student council..

It is the CW network so there is a good chance that there is going to be IR then. Now if it was on a different network then it's a wait and see, but the CW goes there more than the others.
