Perhaps some time in the future. I think they would make a nice (movie) couple

    Cowards

Seem Black male stars are still too chicken to play opposite a White actress even in the 21st Century.

Looks like that's about to change with 'Tonight, He Comes'...where he will co-star with Charlize Theron.

It depends Kid if he has the guts. I believe it when it materializes and becomes a film.

    Hitch?

Wasn't that movie with Cameron Diaz supposed to be 'Hitch'? I think I remember hearing that Diaz was considered but they settled on Eva Mendez. So I think this article refers to a past movie, not an upcoming one. And if I remember correctly, he was willing but made the decision with input from execs who worried about marketability.

Basically, I think Will would have done it, but decided to go with other considerations (that may have been out of his hands anyway). I hope he's over that now. Someone needs to do a few of these movies so people can just start to get over it.

Guys I keep telling you don't hold your breath for a major IR pairing in a movie. Will and Denzel will go from box-office gods to Snipesville in a heartbeat if they messed with a white chick in a movie. You got sistas protesting when the co-star is a white woman (Cedric), with no love scenes in it!!!! Just think if there was a love scene.

That's for damn sure. The double standard continues.

    Re: Cowards

dont blame bw for accepting the roles, blame the black male (denzel, will smith, jamie fox) cowards for rejecting the roles. even in films were the love scenes have been filmed people like denzel will get the studio to remove the romance. imagine if julia roberts was the one refusing to do a love scene? or asking for the scenes to be taking out?
I'm sorry man but people like will smith and denzel have let us down but yet brothas like taye diggs who are brave enough to do what we want you guys fail to support him, so dont complain. if you wanted to see more IR on TV then brothas like wesley snipes and Taye diggs would get more love and support, its not a question of simply complaining about a lack of IR. how many of you guys supported or watched taye diggs when daybreak was on? what about Kevin hill? There are plenty of people on this site who didnt watch even though they were both very good shows.
More than just saying it you guys need to do it, by watching these shows or films, that is the only way of communicating your opinion to the people making the decisions.

IMO, that just proves that being a good actor doesn't mean that you are one of the smart ones. They are probably not even aware that they give white racists a card blanche to limit and censor the performance of black actors, and that their behavior is a slap in the face for all those brave people who risked their lives for racial desegregation, equality and freedom. Quite sad, that is. :?

Saw The Last King of Scotland and the Scot character was having a great time with the african women like it was a box of chocolate. You don't see that with a Black male character.

Speak for yourself. I've seen damn near every film of Taye and Wesley. Paid to get in, paid for DVDs. But I don't control their career choices off camera. Taye slipped around the Malibu's Most Wanted era. No, I didn't see that, it was garbage. Wesley was the man until right after Blade 2, then he started to slip. I even saw one of his straight to DVD joints, can't remember the name. Sniper, I think.

Fact is, these men carry multi-million dollar productions on their backs. If a segment of the audience is turned off, people lose money. BW may not command a whole lot of market share but we all know they're vocal as hell about stuff they don't like. You would think it's three times as many dissatisfied BW than there really are, they're so loud. If kissing on a WW means losing money and fans, it's not worth it. Especially when a black leading man is so rare in the 1st place.

Really? Black women protested Sheridan's presence in "Code Name"? But there were no love scenes between them (unless you count the rampant "butt-slapping") in the movie?

P.S. On the real, Nicolette Sheridan was looking nice with her sexy ass in that movie. 8)

all the more reason for us to support brothas, because there is a lot of sistas out there intent on ruining you the minute the spot you anywhere within range of a white woman.
