I sacrificed every single relationship I had to get where I am today, I am fully aware of that (not only me to blame, most bfs failed to support me and was not interested in my career, that is ok, its a give and take) - I was single minded and had an urge and desire to do what I do. Nothing else was more important than my career.... I was not willing to sacrifice that and I never met anyone that supported my career.

I gotta be honest w you, Now I would be fully willing to scale back and take a 9-5, mon- fri job..... but that has to come w some sort of insurance.
I would let go of retirement, salary and future "climbing the ladder"... that means that there is too much at stake and there has to be a commitment in place.
After I got my PhD, I could have chosen another path... but at the time, my bf was more interested in me being the side show bob oohh-ing and ahhw-ing at all his accomplishments while he had zero interest in supporting mine - that drove me to just engage 100% in mine instead.

What I am getting at is that I am not the only one that "secretly" would like to take the back role and be supportive, but realistically, there has to be a give and take.. Had someone stepped up to the plate and given me the reason to step back, I would have. No discussion.

i.e., these women are out there for you. I really do hope you find one like that... and you will.

i wouldn't give up ur career tho, tbh

you worked too hard for it to just piss it away over some man

success is like a drug tho...once you get a taste, there is no going back

    :)

honestly tho, i used to shy away from girls that didn't fit a similar profile to me. Now i'm thinking I may have been going about this the wrong way. Like someone told me, just because a girl may not be as educated as you, doesn't mean that she would be a bad mother. She may be the best thing for you and the family.

My mom didn't go to college and I know how awesome a job she did at raising me alone.

Is it because they don't try hard enough?

Maybe they are too lazy and are better suited for the kitchen?

I don't really think anyone is to blame. We all make choices and we all have to live with them
