I'm with Ches on this one. I have preferences but I'm don't stick to them like glue.

Looks and money change with age and time. But who he is as a person remains.
When it's cold out its going to be his hand that brings warmth. It won't be the numbers at the bottom of bank statement (tho that does help to pay the heating bill so I'm not knocking money.)
When we fight, it won't be his gorgeous 6 pack I'm focused in on. It will be what his body language and eyes tell me and how well we keep the lines of communication open.
When one of us is sick it will not be the importance of what he does with his time to make his money or how high profile and glamorous it is. It will be time he takes to be kind and loving in helping me get well.

There may be a lot of women out there that bring nothing to the table but want dinner served on expensive china.
But there are probably a lot more women not like that. We know what we want verses what is important.
I'm never looking for the most handsome well dressed highest paid blah blah. Do I admire it when I see it? Yes. Do I expect it to date me or marry me simply because I can keep its penis warm? No. If ever I ended up with that would I expect it to take care of me hands down? No, I'm not 2. I can pull my own damn weight and would perfer to anyway. Would it be nice to be pampered and taken care of? Fuckk. Yes.
That is not a sustainable reality anyway.

The guy Paniro decribed is one most women if not all would considef above average on paper. Looks arent all that matter but they matter most in the beginning since without then you wouldnt find out about the other stuff like generosity or sense of humor. All I know there are a bunch of guys 5'7 to 5'10(average height) with decent jobs (low to high 30s) who are completely overlooked by women who would be considered their peers. You might not but a large number of women do because theyre holding out for better. People are shallow but I do notice it more with women but again it could be a regional thing.

 

I agree with a lot of what you said but I think the YT poster made it confusing by not making her demographic more specific. What I took from it was women of common marrying age (24-32) who dont have kids. Those type of women are less inclined to share your view point of whats important. To them its still all about the ideal. Things seem to be changing quite a bit with the younger generation at least from what Ive seen with my gf and her friends. They are getting far more frequent hard lessons because of the tough economy and realize life isnt a fairytale even though Im sure many of them are hopeful that it will be.

Everytime we have discussions like this why are the women so opposite from the men?
Is it really thar hard to admit that most women want a tall physically dominating provider. There have been thousands of studies on this. I even posted a documentary from the Discovery Channel and it got dismissed as junk science because for some reason women on here thinks it makes them look bad to say someone like Idriss Alba is their ideal. To answer Paniro, I get angry when people are reduced to only what's on the outside. We do humanity a huge disservice. We all like and appreciate what, to each of us, is "perfection" beauty-wise. But let's be real: It takes a whole lot more than a hot body to form a relationship of substance.

Beauty is different for each of us. Iggy likes hot, skinny blondes. Blackbull likes 'em thick and really curvy. If BB says to Iggy, "Man, you can do better than THAT pale, toothpick" will Iggy not be offended? And vice versa? What's beautiful to one is not necessarily beautiful to another. So to say that this guy deserves a hot chick or that chick can do better than the dude she's with is just not right, imo. And just because we look at and drool over the pix on here doesn't mean that's what we necessarily want in real life.

We all like what we like - I'm not saying it's wrong to have a preference. I have a preference. But to say that an "average-looking" man or woman doesn't rate a "hot" partner or a "hot" man or woman deserves better than an "average-looking" partner just isn't fair. You reduce the person to a one-dimensional entity.
