Why is this still called “Black People Toothpaste” in Chinese?

Wow, ain't that a bitch. I can't believe this stuff is real.

 

At one time it was being sold as Darkie Toothpaste, and had a Blackface character on the cover of the product. There are a lot of Blackface characters in Japanese items as well, like Niggerhair slippers. But in Japan its sold as "cutesy" and being targeted to women. The Japanese aren't at fault. The distrubutors are. But things like this are old news. Uncle Ben and Aunt Jemima were both slave images at one point until they have been cleaned up.
There were many items of goods that would offend Black people.

As for Darkie Toothpaste, it was a big uproar in the 80's, and being protested by people like Eddie Murphy, and Oprah Winfrey. The company in the US changed the name, but the Chinese kept it as is. As to why, I don't know.

 

Wished some homeboys would show this toothpaste to the African nations where China is exploiting their natural resources.

 

I agree with you on that soul. Africa should make them jokers pay top dollar all day all the time for them resources.
