Ronja has a man and loves him dearly. Plus she is a mom. Why do I want to find her? She has found happiness. Me? I don't give up and I will search in Scandinavia,Germany,UK or even Eastern Europe. I sure I'm not going to go to a American city to find a WW. It is a dry run of the fourth power.

Wow! What a diverse exchange in this thread!

I just joined because I found an interesting thread about different views on interracial relationships between black men and women from South Asia and wanted to comment. And now I've stumbled across a new discussion ranging from white woman/black male attraction to the differences between the Schengen Area vs. the euro area and full EU membership vs. association with the union. Very interesting. Can't say I agree with everything that's been said, but the diversity of opinion is refreshing, even when allowing for factual error.

The 'Motherland' is a recurring theme in African-American cultural consciousness, particularly post-1960s as black North American politics have been markedly more international in focus. It is a term used commonly to refer to the African continent as a spiritual as well as ancestral home for blacks throughout the African Diaspora.

    I'm glad I joined!

Djorejon, thank you for the definition of Motherland.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, if ST doesn't like american ww, that's fine by me. If a guy likes ww he is in the right place if he lives in Europe, :D the US or Canada. The brothas like me who love american ww ain't complainin'!

I bet you do get annoyed - it cracks me up when he corrects you about your country. Maybe you should check your sources, Ronja, its not as if you've lived there all your life or anything  oh, wait a second...

As an American ww...fine by me too! No complaining here :)

I have no interest in convincing any man of anything. We either want each other or we don't. No competition involved...people want what they want no matter what the reasons may be.

The sweeping generalization are sometimes rather entertaining though

Very interesting thread this... enjoying the cultural debate.
I do find often that some Americans see Europe as an area comparable to the US, forgetting that despite it's size, it is a continent of many countries, many languages and many cultures.

    Glad you enjoyed it.

I know I didn't explain the EU/EEA fully, and I didn't even mention Schengen, but that's mainly because I didn't want to confuse ST even more. :D It just seems really hard to him to understand that it doen't matter if you're for instance Norwegian, or if you're a full EU-citizen. You still got the same rights within the whole area.

(I think I know why ST is so concerned with it though, it's because I once mentioned that my BF isn't a EU citizen and that complicates our situation. However, that would complicate our situation no matter wich EU/EEA country I'm from)

Oh, btw ST, let's for the arguments sake say I'm Norwegian AND my BF only wants me for a visa *sigh*: a permanent Norwegian visa, is equally vallid in the rest of EU/EEA as for instance a permanent Danish visa. So he'd get what he wanted either way.

I don't know why it's so hard for some Americans to understand European politics. Perhaps because you're either a US-citizen or you're not? Maybe that makes it harder to understand that EU and US are completely different kinds of unions?
