Meh, the thread title said all itself.

So, just wanna to know why is it so popular to discuss about fitness and fashion? Is that why we wanna to live longer to get past the age of 100? Just asking, that's all. Just enters the steams of my thoughts about how obsession are we to live longer.

And what is it so special about fashion anyway? :smt017 I don't want to be sounds too mean, but just wanna to know. There's no harm done to asking questions.

    Not really, no.

By "here" do you mean this discussion board? Or the US?

For me, fitness is more about being able to make the most out of life while I have it. Not so much extending it.

As far as fashion, I don't care. I wear what is comfortable. Never understood the hype over fashion. Funny seeing those "Fashion experts" talk about some dress on the runway like it's the greatest thing in the world, but in reality, it's ugly as shit, and most people wouldn't wear the shit on the street. I'm not really into fitness, but I should be. Gotta get healthy, and cut back on the junk food.

what's holdin ya back, brah? for me, fitness started back in high school, because of sports. I had my first personal bench, plates, and bar in my bedroom, when i was 14, and that stuff pretty much stuck with me. I guess i'm a creature of habit. If I didn't get involved with sports, I probably wouldn't have got into lifting and stuff.

as for the runway fashion shows, eh..

i get what you're saying, as what someone views as 'new, in style, and artistic,' may look like a steaming pile of shit to me and you

Just not really motivated. I'm never in a good enough mood to do shit. I tell my self one I move out of my moms house to somewhere else, I'll be in a good enough mood to start getting back into shape. I'm really slackin'. I could play ball for days back in 8th grade until past midnight. Today, I'm dyin' after a couple laps down the court.

To me fitness isnt really about extending life its more about living to the best I can now. I like a quote by socrates that goes somewhere along the lines of "what a shame for a man to die and never see and feel the full power and beauty if his body".

Plus the more fit you are the better you feel and of course cut down the chances of alot of health issues.

I'm not really huge into fashion but I do like to keep up some and just like I said theres nothing wrong with trying to look the best that you can.

and you have good taste in sports teams.... well, at least in basketball. I had a dream that we picked up Ilgauskas and Nocioni.

Hell, will Ilgauskas EVER leave Cleavland. I remember him being on that team back in elementary.

A while back during black history month, I was watching a special on either the learning channel or the health channel about black men and high blood-pressure. Needless to say even though the show was very educational, it scared the hell outta me and forced me to once again re-evaluate what I eat as well as monitoring my eating habits.

Now I started my workout regimen and began to drink more water on a daily basis, about 80-100 ounces a day.

I make it a point to get some of my cardio in at work while at the same time I toned it down as far as fast-food and junk-food. Eating and living healthy is not something you can just go at 0-60mph, it has to be a gradual process because your body has to become accustomed to a style of eating and certain foods must be consumed in moderation in order for you to both lose and keep the weight off.

Stick to 3 square meals and replace junk-food with fruit, and you’re well on your way.

    Don't ask me s__t about fashion though.:smt102

Lol, I hear that. I never hear any mention of his name on the free agent market. It's like Cleveland signed him to a 20yr contract.

I use to Drive Truck cross country & I almost got to 300lbs. but when all you do is Drive & sleep what do you expect! needless to say my Health tanked,High Blood Pressure,Cholesterol, knee's hurt from being to heavy, shortness of breath.I was a Mess, even passed out a few times(not while driving) not to mention..no looks from the Ladies.
that was two years ago,I now weigh 225 & never felt better in my Life!!! I jog/walk 4 miles a day, eat Fresh Vegetables & maintain a healthy Lifestyle.
Far as Fashion I could care less,in Cali we wear Jeans & Nike's. my dad on the other hand,he got me into what they call in the South a "Sharp Dresser" Gabardine Slacks,Cashmere Coat's,Scarf's,Knit sweater's,100% wool suit's,Allen Edmunds Shoe's.
I have to say, although I don't care to much for Fashion...I get plenty of Look's when I'm dressed to a "T" & I noticed that People actually show me more Respect when I'm @ Resturaunt's & out in Town.
