My ideal partner? Well...I dreamt of the perfect guy for me, but now I think I've got a firm grasp on what I am looking for in a man:

Personality: Kind, Gentle, Not selfish, Truthfull, Humerous, Doesn't let anything stand in his way, always caring, non-religious, and loving. (Also a non smoker, doesn't do drugs, and is NOT an alcholic...no tatoos or pericings either!)

Appearence: between 5'8- 5'12 in height, not too skinny, and not overweight, ripped (has abs and muslces). I don't mind a little stubble, but please no chest or leg or arm hair! (ew.)

I'm "little miss want to change the world", so the main thing I'd look for in a partner is if they could handle protecting the girl that wants to protect the world.

I like a guy who is motivated, knows what he wants and will do what it takes to get it; humorous, someone that could get me laughing and I could be silly with and also someone that "gets" that I do NOT see deafness as a disability.
I like a man that's loving, realizes if he can capture my heart there's no one that could love him more; someone that's honest and could answer the, "do these jeans make my butt look big?" question and know I will not get angry at them :p.

The main two though, would be if the guy could deal with a family as large as mine and if he'd be willing to learn some sign language (my friends are deaf, we all sign and I'd like to include the guy lol).

Physically, I honestly don't care. A muscular body might catch my attention, but an enticing personality will keep my attention :smt045.

This. :smt023 I can co-sign almost all of this (I'm not deaf, so that doesn't apply. Lol!)

I love your first sentence. Men just don't get any more that some women still want to feel "protected" even if there's no danger! It's just the way we're wired.

To both you and Nick buy a gun and call it day.

I had this conversation with a friend not too long ago and I have to say its very telling about how women view men as a whole when protecting you is part of what turns you on about us.
Nobody else that cares about me gets off on the idea of me putting myself in harms way to protect them.
How about I got your back and you got mine. I get the world is a big scary place but you ain't the only one who feels that way. This isn't really a shot at you Ches just the notion in general. I've seen a lot of good dudes get locked up or worst trying to protect their girl (which has a broad interpretation anyway). I honestly worry about men and women who think its a god idea to have that kind of mentality. I try to teach the females in my family you're better off learning how to protect yourself because you could have a husband who's built like a mack truck but it won't do you any good if he's far away and you're by yourself or even worst if he's the one you need protecting from.
