Lol! Well i'm in a pretty well-known place (mainly for the wrong reasons) called Hackney, East London. Not sure how far that is from you.

To coin a phrase from Dr. Cox out of 'Scrubs' - you re-he-he-he-he-heeaallly don't want to have a forum trip down HERE, of all places in London!

Having said that though, it's actually improving. Maybe because I've moved to a different part now, or because the 2012 Olympics will be nearby, but I haven't heard about anyone being shot or stabbed around here for a while...

 

I'm glad you are doing good in London. Just spent five days there four weeks ago and loved it.

Unless you intend to go to Ibiza or a party town like that, I'd advise you to go to Portugal. Along with Italy, it's my favourite country in Europe and I feel like I've been to almost all of them

Yeah it can be really good, depending on what part you're in. West and Central London are winners in my book. Minus a few places, you're normally better off avoiding South and East London.

Ah, yeah Ibiza! Thanks for reminding me, I knew there was a good reason why I wanted to visit Spain . And yeah, Italy wasn't bad. I've only been to Rome though.

I've been to France and Italy. During my stay in London I saw a lot more French tourists which changed my mind on going to Paris. I have not been to Spain or Portugal. I never forgot their win against Holland and their treatment of Lewis Hamilton.

 

Really?? I dated a lad from there that moved to Manchester and he was extremely glad to leave there. He told me some stories... not exactly number one on my holiday destinations list!

It's the people, mate. At least in Catalunya. Very cold and unfriendly, unless they're working in restaurants. But even then, they're still extremely rude by Brit standards. Some are quite racist too so you've got to be careful about where you go.

Lisbon was amazing for me. My friends and I went in the summer, and the beaches are great, the party scene is fun, people are friendly and everything is cheap

Seriously though, it's sort of getting better. Still a terrible area though, but at least less people are getting killed. Can't wait to move...
I do know of one or two areas within Hackney that aren't total wastelands though...

Yeah there's always a lot tourists, normally taking pictures of St. Paul's Cathedral or Trafalgar Square. How was Italy? And how did they treat Lewis Hamilton in Spain???

...And slowly Spain drops off my bucket list. Although, my uncle said Barcelona wasn't bad. But if it is like you said, I might have to reconsider. Portugal, on the other hand, sounds splendid though, especially the beaches. Yeah, definitely going to look into it more. And possibly Holland.

In further regards to my "beloved" hometown, Hackney...I have plenty of (horror) stories, so I'm pretty sure the guy you dated wasn't far off

 

The Spanish treatment of Hamilton was not good. Some even have some tried to have nooses at them. Also they do monkey chants.

 

Yeah, just found out. Jeez, didn't know racism was THAT rife in Spain. Disgusting.

 

I'm a big fan of formula 1, and i see how spanish and alonso fans behave when someone is defeting him.

i think its more about trying to make hamilton loose control than being racists at all.

 

Even if that was the case, it's still stupid and disgusting. Surely they could find more tasteful/less racist ways to jeer Hamilton.
