Who has read Why Black Men Love White Women?

If there is a thread about this book already please point me there.

I've finally finished this book and it was very difficult for me stomach. I know it's just one man's opinion and I do wonder what white woman pissed in his cheerios but I'm sure that his words do hold some truth.

The chapters about black women made me feel the most disturbed. I mean, he's talking about my MIL and it hurts that anyone would view black women in such a negative light even if it's a small number of people.

My husband completely dismisses what the author says but I'm sure if he started dating me for any of the reasons listed in the book he wouldn't want to hurt my feelings by telling me.

So have you read it? What do you think about it?

No probably shouldn't buy it and support what you are making it to be as garbage.

 

And just think, Alilyn, there are so many real books you could have been reading this past summer with actual knowledge or entertainment in them.

 

Skimmed through it at the bookstore. What I found disturbing was that it was the only book in the store that dealt with interracial relationships.

Most books written by black authors are geared toward black women since they buy most of the them ( 90 % ). They put a lot of things in there to aggrevate the black women to get them to buy the book. Most of that isn't from real statistical studies.

 

I read this book a year ago...I believed this is the one written by the brotha who's a comedian or something.Most of his shit is subjective...just his humble opinion based on his scope of reality.Y'all ain't missing much.

I read the first chapter in that book and it was ridiculous.I date white women but not for any of the reasons he implied.It implied it was "revenge" for white men raping black women yada yada.I have Haitian ancestry,Haitians freed themselves from slavery.I dont descend from the black slaves in America,whats my excuse?Whats the excuse for a white woman with a black man then?He said it was because of curiousity and sexual tensions that built up...All garbage.When I date a white woman,it isn't because of the history that happened between another group of blacks,she doesn't date me because of the liasons between white men and black women centuries ago.I read up on that guy he's a stand up comedian,his book should be taken as just that,stand up comedy...
