Have a friend who married his ons turned fwb. I think it’s the exception to the rule though.
Think the passing grade for fwb is usually lower than potential wives, right?

 

It depends on the person. Wife/husband material really depends. Many women I know feel that they settled, many men feel like they were worn down into marriage. Of course, I have heard different stories across the pond, but in the states, when people are being open and honest with me, these are the most common situations.

 

Observations

 

If someone is not a serial monogamist but a serial polygamist, would it be easy to get married and turn into a forever monogamist? I really imagine that to be difficult.

 

It's not really binary in the sense that everyone is either or. A lot of guys just go through "serial pologamy" as a stage. Most never become serial monogamists. That's more common with women.

 

Ok...such cases don’t come to my mind. Everyone isn’t having a great marriage all the time, but at least the starting point seemed to have been right.
One has to settle in a way though. Not with overall standard. But some people, especially women, have unrealistic expectations that one person can’t fulfill. Maybe one man might have this quality but lacks something else in their catalogue. Then someone else has that one but but lacks something different. One has to come to terms with the concept that there is no perfect human being.

Serial monogamy is very common here. Not to say that people don’t have their fwb phases in between, but most people have one partner until that doesn’t work out. Even young people in their teens and Twens tend to have longer relationships with one person at a time.

That's what it is. Everyone else can either have casual relations or be officially single until........ except for the serial monogamist.

It doesn't simply mean a faithful person. A person can be monogamist without a commitment, but the serial monogamist has to have it as official.

Yes...the issue with this is that they have this entitlement attitude and it's all about what they think they deserve.

 

Seriously? I haven't seen that. There is still the whole thing of there are females you fuck and those you bring home to mom/marry. I get that there are some out there who are wifing up certain types, but that's still a rarity.

 

Maybe that's your experience. I notice that guys still have a line of those they will fuck and those they will marry. Again...some may blur it, but not usually.

There's plenty of players out there who will fuck whatever but aren't going to wife them up. Often they end up married to someone very different than what they were playing with.
