Hustle can be used two ways. 1. She scamming you

    2. Working hard.

    The definition can be debated.

Overall, She's scamming you. She don't want to work.

Didn't know it was zero sum. Why can't I help both and whoever I see fit. Plenty of poor white people out there who need help and I'm going to help them when I can. Maybe if more of them encountered compassion they wouldn't hold so tightly to this us against them mentality. I am also volunteering my skill set to do free tax returns for low income families who are mostly black and brown.

What hundreds of advantages Raider? So if she applied for a grant and got it would that be Ok? What if a teacher took pity on her and paid would that be ok?
What about kids whose parents actually pay for their college education are they prolonging reality?
Why are you so stuck on the idea that unless you arbitrarily work for something you don't deserve it.
Plenty of low income kids I went to school with had a sponsor, a stranger who wanted to help a low income kid go to a good school. Is there a problem there?

No one said you can't help her, they are saying she shouldn't get help.

Dude, feel free to help whomever you want however you please. Just don't continue to push this idealistic utopian scenario you're operating under while telling everyone else they're some how missing the big picture and how you don't understand how people are "married" to the ideal of struggle.

Not everything is available to everyone but someone in her position is in a better position than many and there are still avenues she can take before or even while asking for help.
Working hard doesn't have to be the only lane to existence, but that's the one I live by. If 18 year old girls want to ask for money and haven't shown any proof of trying to earn money, fine. If whores want sugar daddies/mommas to spoil them, fine. If people want strangers to buy them shit off of amazon wishlists, fine. I'm supporting none of that.

And as far as jobs for people who have already completed school, I'll take their complaints before I take hers because I assume that they have actually tried to find work. Also, based on the fact they have completed that level of education, I'm assuming they are more willing to find work after investing all that time in school. I'm not expecting the same from an 18 year old girl. And I go to McDonald's every once in a while. Never seen anything close to automated service there or any other fast food chain.

I'm all for helping someone who is trying to help themselves. If she was washing cars, flipping burgers or whatever making nothing, I would help her. Call it individual thinking but I need to see effort before I just help you.

Real talk, tuition at ANY college in the USA should be free, if you qualify academically as a student.
Many of our European allies don't make poor or impoverished students pay for boarding and tuition because those countries consider EDUCATION a right and not a privilege. Education is supposed to be a social investment in a nation's future and not just a privilege for the affluent.

I attended a university that could have, if they wanted, made tuition free for all their students. But somehow that's not an 'American' core value.

Maybe it's just me, but whenever a college student in this country asks for funds to help them continue their education, I consider that to be a worthy cause.
Whether that student be a nun or an exotic dancer.

Ok so what about people who apply for grants? Or even non merrit based scholarships? How is that different?

It's like they only see education as something people who are willing to suffer for it should have it. It's weird this same animus isn't reserved for people who's parents pay for them or they get it through some type of scholarship.

Real talk you're being racist. How do you know she's being lazy. What are you basing this on other than she's white and her parents have money.
If someone said you were probably a third based on your skin and where you are from that would be....

    Why not push the idealism?
Do you think education should be a right or a privilege?

How about we actually focus on what actually IS first before we start focusing on what Could/Should be?

Struggle and sacrifice are a fact of life. Always have been and always will be as long as there are "Haves" & "Have Nots" on any kind of level. Once we actually can solve the problems of "Haves" & "Have Nots", then we can actually try being idealistic about day to day life.

What about them? They are using the resources available. If she has exhausted those resources, not gotten enough money or none of them can help then yeah, gofundme all you want. This girl hasn't shown that she has used any of those provided resources or made any other effort. She goes straight to the public with her "I can't" and hasn't shown what she can do. I'll expect help from the government, not the person next door. If you want to donate to her, go ahead.

Well can't get to what could/should be if we just accept what is. If our people did that we'd still be in chains. I'm a tax payer just like you and I'd rather that girl get a free college education rather than having to resort to begging online to get one.
And sure there are haves and have nots more but why can't we discuss and fight for what we have vs just accepting that we're have nots.
Child labor laws and a 40 hour work week were once an ideal. There were plenty of people who loved to say hey you're lucky to have a job stop griping about time off don't worry about a minimum wage just take what you're given. Unless you fight and push for ideals they remain ideals. We got here being idealistic we got here because we weren't willing to accept what is. And I get you don't think this girl is the ideal representation of that but I'm not looking for the perfect victim. I recognize forcing debt slavery on people so they can take care of themselves is a human rights violation. It shouldn't be debt or death take your pick.

She don't want to go out and get her own money for her shit...That's lazy.
