theyre focusing on dropping the next plat'num rap album

    :p

    jk

my guess would be they're more accepting of mainstream colleges, so the student body that would normally be at Grambling state for example, would be found dispersed around Stanford, UCLA, PSU, Bama, etc

yeah, my assumption is that blacks are going to those universities for a couple of reasons

    1) to prove they can be accomplished students on their field
    2) the prestige of it all

whites are going to the HBCUs because they see it as the school is just as good and at a more reasonable price . If i had to do it all of over again I would go to a small college (black or white) then go to a big name to get a masters (PSU, bama, auburn ect)

i remember seeing that as an actual reason. so many colleges are either expensive or just too damn big, so they go to a HBCU instead. In the end, a degree is a degree, and accredited HBCUs are just as good and respected. I went to PSU because my mom wanted me to go there, plus it was much cheaper compared to other schools in the area like Temple. It was only 6500/yr when I went.

    put it this way

I wish i was still there till this day

    :smt003

i lived in a 3 bedroom apt with 3 white guys and a Japanese one for a few years, and enjoyed every damn day. The teachers make you earn your grades :)smt087), but it was still a very good experience overall.

that sounds cool. Im at alabama a and m and its ok but I hate it because it really hasnt changed much. the students act as though they are still in high school..you know clowning and shit while the teacher is talking. Im like damn come on man. the are not dumb they are smart as hell but still....well at least some of the ones that are clowning. the othe ones that are clowning are just dumb as shit. they have no clue what is on the outside and how good they got it.

Im gonna try to transfer to UAB because A and M fuck up your money and registration time. A and M and UAB are the only 2 schools in north alabama that have the program I need and the student culture is fucked up. some not all arent mature ready for it all. UAB was different. I went there for a minute and I loved it.

    lol

    yeah colleges are a trip

when I went in 2000, there were no iPhones, blackberries, texting and all that bullshit. These kids now, they're sitting in class texting and talking on their phones.:smt095

but yeah, it all depends on where you go. the lack of discipline within some student bodies is embarrassing.

    no doubt it is embarrassing.

I dont want to sound like Im bashing HBCU because I havent attended all of them to give an assessment but if A and M is a representative then we are in trouble. The teachers need to knuckle up and start trowing people out of class but the problem is students have too much power in giving reviews and shit

colleges are a business, and at the end of the day, businesses run on money. as long as the kids aren't starting fights, I guess the institutions just let them stay so they can collect their dollars.

as for reviews..i came across this which is pretty surreal, since you can type in your current and past professors and find ratings and comments on them. When the comments from a stranger on a prof, match EXACTLY what you've experienced, that makes your wig go back.:smt033

LOL. the ones who gave him a bad rating are the ones that flunked the class...and the inverse for the ones who got a good grade.

have you noticed when a person pass the class they say "I GOT A "B" "

if they flunked they say " the professor GAVE ME AN "F" "

nobody ever earned an "F" nor were they given an "A"

    lol

    seriously...you don't just 'get' F's for no reason.:smt039

dont tell them that . LOL

well yeah you gotta consider the source with some reviews. From my own experience, if you at least show up to class and do ALL the assigned work and read your fucking books, you should come away with at least a C.

exactly. especially if you read the chapter before he get started on the class

OH I have to apologize. I should have brought up the BS in the "B" thread now we got mike talking dumb shit.

have to call it like I see it. anyway back to real issues...

Im just happy to see HBCU's getting white faces in the school because it helps both races in a sense as far as sensitivity to racial issues and maturity
