Meh. It's not the flu or anything. More like chronic migraines and fatigue. My head feels like it's going to explode, sleep is the only temporary cure, but insomnia is killing me because it hurts so bad I can't sleep.

on the other note, though...haha. I just prefer "thick". It makes me feel sexy! I went from being "fat" to "thick" when I moved to Houston, because apparently "fat" here is completely different than where I'm from. In wv "fat" means anything from 10lbs overweight to 6000lbs overweight.

also, apparently, another term for what I am is "juicy". *L* I like that one, too Thick n juicy, oh yeah. I was called juicy by this weird old African dude who was sort of my boss in the ghetto one day...uhm, it's a long story, though quite interesting, to say the least. Anyway, while I was working (and no, I wasn't hooking) one of his clients showed up with her absolutely adorable baby, who I of course played with, since I love them youngins. So Emmanuel, the boss dude, kept goading the kid on when he'd crawl towards me. "That's right, go after that juicy white woman!"

...Man, that was a weird day.

I have been crying for hours, cause I don't know what I'm gonna do about work now, because all the decent jobs refuse to work with my school schedule, and all the jobs I -can- have are only gonna pay me minimum wage, which is shit to live on. I definitely have to get a job, even if it means taking one of those minimum wage shits that makes me feel like I'm an idiot who can't do any better just for having to work there, but it's still not going to help me buy food that easily.

I swear, it's like every time I gain an inch somebody up there kicks me in the box and knocks me back 10 feet.

It's a really bad day. I've never been fired before. I'm a good worker, I'm fucking smart. Fuck, my mom thinks the reason they let me go is because I kept showing up my boss. It took me like 15 minutes to understand the computer programs well enough to run everything on my own, and I'm more than capable of handling shit there.

They didn't even give me any sort of notice so I could find a new job or anything. Just "Sorry, it's really slow and we don't really need you anymore, so...there's the door, dont let it hit you in the ass on the way out"

Fuck.

I know it stinks but what about waiting tables. You can make really good tips. I did it all through uni. Bartending is good too. You feel like you are out but you don't spend any money.

You just have to do whatever you have to do to get through school. Can you get a student loan?

And yep, I'll be applying for some server jobs tomorrow. I did that for about 7 months before I got this job. I despised it, but it paid the bills so I kept that job til I got this last one (a receptionist, love, love, loved it) that came with less drama and less stress...

Until they fired me, of couse. -_-

I'm realy hoping to get a non-waiting-tables job, though, because I just really abhor the work and never knowing how much I'm going to make night by night. I worked more than a few doubles of 12+ hours and only took home 30 bucks, which is why I searched for a new job in the first place. It's just if I go for something with a regular paycheck I'll have to wait until I get said paycheck, and that'll be a while since I'll be new..bah.

It's just stressful. Those bastards could've at least given me a couple days warning, out of respect. It's not like it was a huge company or anything. There were 5 other employees aside from myself, we all knew each other personally. They knew that after my grades started failing I quit my second job (the waitress thing) and that I'm struggling with cash right now...

...so they fired me.

It kinda hurts. I've never been fired before, and I didn't even do anything wrong. They just apparently don't need me anymore. Bah.

I know I'll be ok, I always am. It's just hard to think positively when everything's getting really shitty really fast, ya know?

Isn't getting fired a right of passage or something? I got fired once (from a job as a counselor in a rehab center. how bad is that?) and now I'm in a position where I sometimes have to fire people. Neither end is fun. Just a part of life. Don't let it get you down for too long, disposableheroine.

 

Well, I'm at least stress free for the moment. Had some friends come over and cheer me up. I also bought popsicles, which is always a pick me up.

Gonna head to the mall tomorrow and try to get one a job at somewhere that'll get me a discount on clothes. Major interest: torrid.

If it doesn't bear any promising options, I'll head to the restaurants on monday. Nobody's gonna talk to me til monday when shit slows down, so I might as well enjoy the free MLB game with my school and some homework time on sunday, and hope like hell I can get paid quickly.

Also pondering in checking in on maybe doing some tarot readings for some quick cash, since I can't seem to get any paintings up anywhere >.<

1. Two job interviews this week.. One sounds great

2. Have my kids full time for the next 2 to 4 weeks as the ex-husband had to take emergency leave due to hi mother being ill and at death's door. I was nice and even took him to the airport, despite the fact that he called me Firday night while I was on vacation with Kenn. He was drunk and finally decided to apologize for how he acted when we were married. :roll: . Resisted the urge to tell him to fuck off. He just wants me there at the moment because he does not like dealing with hard stuff.

3. Have the kids full time to myself for a while and :x . Glad to spend qaulity time with them, but annoyed that my time with Kenn will be a bit more restricted :lol: :lol: . Guess we will have to be creative.

4. Had a nice vacation, good weather went horseback riding and kyacking and up to Canada.

Superchic- Try crying if you get pulled over again. Check and see if a campus cop can give a REAL ticket, he they can't.

DH- I was laid off in June, I feel ya it will get better.

Well, I'm keeping my chin up and spending as much time as possible searching for jobs...which would explain why I've been on here so much lately, since I'm very ADD when it comes to tabs. I've constantly got monster and craigslist open while I'm stalking around here. *L*

Bah, no leads yet, though. Saw a posting for a job I wanted soooo bad. Great money, 15-20 hrs a week (perfect for my classes!), -and- it would've gotten me some good contacts amongst the art snobs here in Houston, which could've helped me get some work in galleries. But alas, no email or call yet, so I'm bummed about that. Ah well. Got a few other options, at least.

But tonight..tonight...fuck being bummed! I'm gon' karaoke! Hell yes!

GOT THE JOB!!!! Teaching high school history to English Language Learners. Mostly Haitian and Vietnamese. Long comute so I bought a little Toyota Yaris. But the organization of the school, the money, number of students hours, and double prep time make up for it.
