It reminds me of last year when I volunteered at a school to help kids with reading problems. They assigned me the difficult slightly delinquent group. They were always goofing off and taking forever to finish what we were to do. One day they were talking about something on TV and wanted to show me on the computer. I said you can't do that the school blocks most of the websites. They showed me vtunnel.com. I had to fake a dismayed look and say you didn't just show me that!! When they went back to class I got out a piece of paper and wrote down vtunnel and stuck it in my bag........for later use. :smt042 I learned alot of good stuff from those second graders.

 

Yeah, shit sounds kinda sketch, right there. I'd probably jump to conclusions, since that seems TOO odd to me. But it could be some weird mistake or something.....maybe.

Yeah, I'm not really worried about it, I'm not sure how to find out any more information about it too. Maybe it was a typo or something because the first letters of the cities are the same and I guess the names of the city I live and the city they have me down as living in could be somewhat similar. I'll still try to figure it out though, if I can.

Sooo, anyhoo, I didn't make it to my appointment. But a neighbor friend is going to loan some gas money for me to go Monday. I did get to talk to the woman who saw me and stuff the first time I went and who had my blood tests taken and did everything. Well she decided to let me know that I have high liver enzymes and I don't really know what that means, so I tried to look it up, but I couldn't make any sense of what I read and just couldn't like "add it up" to my own individual self/experiences. I don't drink alcohol except maybe like once every few years at the most, heh, I haven't abused any acetaminophens (sp?), I've never had any symptoms of any Hepatitis and none of the ways it said someone could get Hepatitis were things that I've been subjected to or whatever, I've never had any symptoms of jaundice or anything. As far as I know, I don't have diabetes because I think she tested for that too because my sister was diagnosed with it and my grandmother and aunt had it when they were alive. But she didn't tell me anything about blood sugar or whatever so I'm assuming it's fine and I don't have diabetes. I guess I'll just have to wait to find out Monday why my liver enzymes are high. And she told me that my cholesterol is high, so she wants to put me on medication for that. She also reminded me that my blood pressure was high the first time so she wants to take it again and see what happens obviously. That's it. So that's what's going on with me now. I'm bored.

 

Brit- Liver enzymes can be elevated for number of things. Hep is one of them. Even with Hep there are d/t types. The most common are Hep B and C. Mostly transmitted via blood transfusion, sex, & durning vaginal delivery. Diabetes has nothing to do w/ your liver enzymes, unless you are taking oral diabetic medications, which most of them get cleared thru the liver. You don't have to have jaundice for your LFT to be elvated. Jaundice is a later physical manifestation. If you are a healthy person and don't have any risk factors for contracting Hepatitis, then my guess is you liver enzymes are mildy elvated. This can be norm in some individuals, there is a condition called NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) aka Fatty liver. Patients are asymptomatic but have mild elevated LFT. Usually the treatment is some weight loss or exercise. Otherwise nothing really to do for it. I know you are a very smart person and enjoy reading a lot more than I do. So read up more about it, I am sure they have some info out there on the web.

Thanks Zorry!! Yeah, maybe I have the fatty liver because I could stand to lose a few pounds. I really doubt it's Hepatitis related because the only way I could think it would be contracted would be sex but even while the only person I've had sex with has been in prison before where Hepatitis runs rampant, they test inmates on a regular basis for all kinds of things like that and STD's and I've made him send me his results before and he's always been clean/healthy etc. So, I'd be really shocked if that ends up being the case. She didn't tell me how high it was either or if it was just mildly elevated, just that it was high. Thanks for clearing up the jaundice (being a later physical manifestation) and diabetes thing for me. Yeah, I've only read one site so far, so I think I really should continue researching.

Today is my sister's birthday. We're all going out to dinner. Should be fun.

I've decided that with my child-free weekend this weekend, that I'm going to pamper myself. I can't afford a day at the spa so I'll just have to pamper myself at home. A bubble bath, a facial, some rest and relaxation. The only thing I'll be missing is a massage. Oh well. I'll have to make due. artyman:

I had a -fantastic- night out tonight. My lovely little friend (she's so tiny, like 5'1 or 5'2) and her twin sister had their birthday party tonight, and their dad is a karaoke dj so he hosted the party at this little restaurant/bar&grille. It was fantastic! Everyone sang and danced and had a great time, and the food was really good, too. I didn't drink, though. We're on a severe budget. But Nate got me a great bowl of chili and he had some tasty tortilla soup. He even got up and did a karaoke song!!!!!! It made me so happy. He's really shy about that kinda thing, and he doesn't sing, but he did Feel Good, Inc by the Gorrillaz. It was awesome!!!!! I sang a whole lot (I'm a karaoke ho lol) and we had a great time when everyone at the party got up and did Bohemian Rapsody by Queen. haha. Good times.

The only problem with the whole evening is that when we walked in it was really obvious we weren't in the city anymore. The party was held in my friend's area about an hour outside of houston, and the only black people at the place were Nate and another guy who came with us. It's the first time I've been in a place like that with Nate (didn't with my ex boyfriend, either) so it was uncomfortable at first, especially with the stares we recieved cause we were holding hands and being all obvious with our couple-status. This one big redneck lookin' guy kept giving us an evil glare while we were waiting for our table.

So what did I do? First I told Nate, then I grabbed him, pulled him close, and gave him a nice big kiss on the lips. Fuck those haters.

Eventually people either stopped staring or I didn't notice cause I was having so much fun. Haha. We were awesomely lame. We even did the macarena, cause Jose knew the words so he karaoke'd it. So fun.

I'm glad to be back in my more tolerant city, though. It was really weird being surrounded by so many white people. I only elect to be in such non diverse crowds when I go home to visit, and then it's only cause it's the only way I can see my mom and brother.
