    JABL, I know you must be hurting right now, but what you've written is the absolute truth - there are positives too. Eventually you'll come to cherish those. {{{HUGS}}}

I said to myself this morning I was going to enjoy being single, but I saw 3 threads, now I'm rethinking my decision.

I decided recently that I'm going to cook my first Thanksgiving dinner this year. I almost did last year but didn't get money in time before all the turkeys were sold. The only ones left were like 20lbs and expensive, so I backed out.

This year, though, I have already purchased my turkey! I got an amazing deal, too. 14lbs (about) and the price was $3.07. I was sooo excited when we left the store. I spent 30 dollars and got everything I need for my dinner except gravy and two cheap ingredients for my special dessert.

I'm a damn good shopper! I'm just thankful that this month I get an extra payday, sort of. We get paid again on the first, and that's when rent is due, so this time I actually, for the first time in months, have a little wiggle room!

Considering tomorrow is Nate's birthday I'm certain it couldn't have happened at a better time, except maybe Christmas. lol

So I've organized a hopefully amazing birthday party for him on Friday night, have my stuff ready to cook my first turkey...It just feels good.

ohnoz I'm not complaining! I guess I should fix that!

    :p ;)

I hope my baby enjoys his birthday. I always seem to get more excited about other people's birthdays and stuff than my own. lol

You and our Aussie brotha lova should try to enjoy singlehood! Don't rethink it, just do it. When I was single it was a mixture of both happy and sad, but I had just dealt with a huge loss in the middle of the break up so my emotions were tender to say the least. But in the end I sort of forced myself to be happy, and it worked out for the better, I think.

Stay busy, go on lots of dates, and just do whatever the hell you want. That was what I did and it was awesome!

JABL - I'm deeply sorry for your loss. But as a beautiful woman, do yourself a favor and have fun!

As for me....I played Twister with a couple of my mates and my sick, twisted friend wanted to go all homoerotic with all of us. And that there made the game all the more enjoyable.

  13. You guys are all super kind. Yes, I will be fine. I am going to do things that make me happy. Starting with getting a birdie (a parrot of some sort); that will please me very much. Next on the list is a vacation :-D

yay me and madam have just busted out of hotel nhs!

madam decided breathing was optional tuesday night so in we went, ive spent the last 8 hours trying to get them to discharge her, they were a tad worried she might go backwards because of the strength of drugs given in a&e but managed to convince them she will be fine with waiting on a referral to ENT insted

did i mention i love my bed? much comfier than trying to sleep on plastic chairs

I hope your little Madam improves and stays home with you Robina. I recall what it's like to try to sleep in those lovely, comfy hospital chairs... someone needs to give them some pointers on how to select comfortable furniture.

well now if you dont sleep because your uncomfortable then your available to do medications for them

i think they were a tad taken back when they said they couldnt get her to take her meds and were going to have to wait for a connector for her feeding tube and use that insted and i grabbed the syringe, popped madams mouth open ( i didnt hurt her ) squeezed the meds in and held her jaw so she had to swallow it.
in my defense i hadnt slept since monday and had only just drifted off ( was last night ), i might have been a tad grouchy, lol

    LOL, Mum knows best!

I hated the time my daughter spent in ICU and the pediatric ward after she was born, I got to the point if I smelled 'hospital' I wanted to vomit. I don't know how you do it all the time Robina, you are just an amazing woman, and your Little Madam is so blessed to have you.

My Friday went VERY well. I actually sat with a group of people and had a discussion on abortion. People who are anti-abortion vs. those who are self-defined as pro-choice. It was really good. I was the only black person in there, but have really kept the discussion really lively. It was enjoyable and hope to do it again. Plus, I've gotten some hugs from two lovely women (one pro-life and the other pro-choice) and we've all evolved into a better companionship.
