What Would You Like to be Known For??

It has been said that when one reaches a certain age they can take a look back on their life and see what they were really about. They may say and do all sorts of different things, but what they really stood for in life will be evident.

My former brother in law (at 55) died yesterday. He was a really unique person and there could (and have been) all sorts of things said about him. On Saturday when I received the news that he had suddenly been rushed to the ER and had emergency surgery on Friday, I just knew he was at the end even though everyone else was saying differently. My best friend and I went to dinner and sat and talked. She had gone to school with him and was saying how he was perceived in those days and so forth.

No matter what people may have thought or said about him, his actions throughout his life made it very clear that he was all about his wife (who died 23 years ago) his son, and his family.

If you take a look at your life right now, what does it show that you have been about? Is that what you would like to be known for when your time comes?

If I were to pass today, I think it would show that I am a loving and fierce mother, hard worker and provider and loyal friend. I've lived life to the fullest and have loved every moment, even during the darkest days, I've found laughter and light.

    I'm pretty comfortable with that.

I would say that I've lived my life and done everything I wanted to do. I also assume that I've changed the life of a few to something positive. So, some would miss me, but I also know that life goes on. I'm busy to write a thriller, based on my experiences in Africa. It's something I want to leave to my people, a kind of proof that I was here. I know that the best part of my life is gone. I am not sure, whether I want to become old.. anyway my life was what I've expected.

Problem solver, fitness enthusiast, mentor, philosopher and innovator. I'm still working on that last one for the most part. Lol

For inspiration and knowledge to pass on to my nephew. Other than that it's all about personal satisfaction, unless I have kids of my own.

I don't think it's important to me to be known for anything, really.

It shows that I have been about politics, but I would like to be known for how much I love my son.

I would say this for myself, too. Maybe I'd like people to have seen Jesus in me.

I definitely don't have a need to be known for anything other than being a person of good character, hard-working and kind to others.

This is something we should all aspire to.
