I like all of those but not seeing how the first applies to you (I'll have to check the lyrics).

    For me:
Brown-eyed handsome man - Chuck Berry
    Strong Persuader - Robert Cray

    Listen to the lyrics:

I was born in these streets
    Raised in these streets
    Walked in these streets
    Taught by these streets
    Lived in these streets
    Hustled in these streets
    Arrested in these streets
    Protected by these streets

    Yeah though I walk
Through the valley of these streets
I shall not fear these streets

    I'm a bad man
    I'm not ashamed of
    A bad man yeah
    And don't need your love
    I'm a bad man yeah
    I'm not ashamed of
    I'm a bad man
    My life's made me tough

I started running with the Black Disciples before I was even in High School. Thrown up against my first police car at 12. Had the police come pull me out of class in 8th grade for some dumb shit. Started doing lookout at about 10? At like 7, I remember watching my pops get spat on coming home to Cabrini from the church he preached at just for wearing church clothes. In High School, I'd go days without coming home before my moms even noticed. I got a cracked front tooth from when someone threw me in front of a moving car during a fight. That's just for starters.

Yeah, I think 'Bad Man' works. My life's made me tough (and wise).

Yeah, I definitely heard GSH in there. The rest of the song sounds nothing like the original though. You should check out a GSH album, I've got the vinyl if you want to borrow it.

It's all good. I got music download blogspots, the best source for downloading music. I can find damn near any album. Downloaded 2 of his albums a couple hours ago. I'll get to it later on today, but I just started my Chaka Khan playlist after Con Funk Shun, so it'll be a while before I peep Gil. :D

I've never had "my" song. Some song describes me in some period of my life. most of all, though, I associate songs to my relationships.

Some songs that represent me and my feelings toward life and world now:

    Aicha - Cheb Khaled
El pueblo unido jamàs sera vencido - Inti Illimani
Io vengo dalla luna - Caparezza
    Fango - Jovanotti
