I know I hadn't heard it in a long time, and I enjoyed listening to it when you posted it the other day. I know that Prince wrote & produced it. I also know he wrote it under one of his pseudonyms...Joey Coco if I remember correctly, but I'm not 100% on my memory these days. I was thinking it could've been as Alexander Nevermind, but it seems like he only used that name for "Sugar Walls" (I haven't heard that one in a while either). I could look it up to refresh my fuzzy memory, but I'm feeling to lazy to do it right now. lol
Ha, ha ... I was seeing if you were "real" or not. A lot of people who claim to be Prince fans only know the surface stuff. They don't know how deep his catalogue is. I don't think it was under Joey Coco. But, like you, my memory isn't as reliable as it once was. So, you may be right. I have the version of this with him actually singing it in my archives somewhere. Yes, it's funky.
I assume I passed the test then, huh? LOL I've been a Prince addict since I was in middle school (damn I feel old, lol). I have learned a lot about him over the years, and I'm always learning something new. I used to have his version of the song and a lot of his other rare/unreleased stuff until my ipod crashed while syncing, and I lost everything on it and my itunes. All I have left of them are some CDs I had burned to take to work with me. I've been able to find a few songs again, but my collection is tiny compared to what it used to be. I went ahead and looked it up today to see what name he used, and it was Joey Coco. Joey Coco also wrote "Cool Love", which isn't as good, on the same album. Now it's time for some Alexander Nevermind:
