Is that an Umm..ok..the song was not to your liking or an Umm..ok..the song was just that, ok for your liking? Hard to tell with you at times since you like to be playful with comments.
Yeah, I think I just been mesmerized by some stuff I was shown lately and so other stuff not knocking the wind out of me. I liked the video you posted. Really I did. Just that I've been taken aback, haunted even, by some other talent I'd never heard of. Different music hits people differently. It's weird. You know. Keep it coming!
... and I'm relieved you get me -- that I'm playful with my comments. I wonder if people take me too seriously and I come off sounding like a bitch. Glad to know you know I'm always joking/playing. It's my default. Please post more music. I love it. Crave it.
Everybody Wants to Rule the World Performed by Lorde Original by Tears for Fears LYRICS Welcome to your life There's no turning back Even while we sleep We will find you Acting on your best behaviour Turn your back on mother nature Everybody wants to rule the world It's my own design It's my own remorse Help me to decide Help me make the most Of freedom and of pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world
^ What a drag she is. I like subversion as much as the next guy. For instance, Obadiah Parker's cover of Hey Ya! Beautiful piece of work. It really captures the melancholy of an otherwise upbeat track. Lorde takes it too far, almost like she's a caricature of herself. But then, I feel kind of awkward criticizing a teenager.
His cover's pretty campy-sounding to me, but it's definitely not a bad piece at all. I'm not a fan of Lorde at all, nor really care...but she took an upbeat 80's song and turned it into something where it's all about determination and drive in the darkest manner possible. Perfectly fitting for a lot of movie themes that uses this song like the Hunger Games series.
