You Like Names That Are Forgotten and Quirky [IMG] You prefer a name that's offbeat, but not made up.
You like old names that are interesting sounding...

You're the type to name someone after a historical figure or fictional character.
You like a name that has a story behind it... hopefully spanning many generations.

Some female names you might like: Annabel, Clementine, Evangeline, Genevieve, Isadora, Lorelei, and Ophelia

Some male names you might like: Cornelius, Dexter, Ferdinand, Gilbert, Jude, Rafael, and Ulysses

I agree about the girls names, but as for boys names, I like them very masculine. I wanted my son to have a very masculine name that he would grow into. Not a cutesy name or an androgynous name or a name that would get his behind kicked on the playground (those are so cruel). So I go for those names that people say "who would name a baby insert masculine name here?" To which I would reply, a mother who wants her son to be a man, eventually.

When i was pregnant with my son i try to see what boys names i liked the most but i could not think of any.. while my husband family expected to name my son at my husband father ..at that time i thought well i dont have any that i like more then other names and this name is not bad and very comon name and this will save a lot of argument too:D so i didnt had a problem BUT if it was a girl no way in hell i was naming her to my mother inlaw:mrgreen: and she knew in a way about it i even said to my husband then if its a girl i will put my mother name and if its a boy to your father so really i didnt had to loose anything because my father inlaw had a nice name.

You Like Names That Are Classic and Timeless

You prefer quality names that have stood the test of time.
You don't like anything that's trendy today and outdated next year.

Names are important to you, and naming someone should not be an social experiment.
You are the type most likely to name someone after a family member.

Some female names you might like: Andrea, Elizabeth, Hannah, Julia, Marie, Nicole, and Victoria

Some male names you might like: Aaron, Benjamin, Christopher, Jonathan, Matthew, Thomas, and Zachary.

    ---

Sounds about right. I don't like much of the girls names mentioned though. I chose a really plain name for my son. If I'd had a girl I might have had something a little different but I don't think boys suit exotic names the same. His first name is Jacob and middle name Adam. Benjamin was a name I liked for him. I also thought about Joshua but ended up with Jacob. If he was a girl I thought about the name Amelia and the name Olivia.

Thats funny because i always liked the name Nathaniel, maybe because ive listened to the War of the Worlds tape to often, ended up calling my son Spencer, was meant to call him Charles after my father in law Charlie for short, but he did not look like a Charles he looked like a Spencer, so i gave him a french name just like his mummy. :)
My Daughter was named after my husbands sister who dies quite young.

You Like Names That Are Unique and Trendy

You tend to prefer names that are up and coming.
You wouldn't dare name your kid or pet last year's hot name.

You think names should be stylish, modern, and interesting...
But not so unique that they're hard to pronounce!

Some female names you might like: Alexa, Brooklyn, Cheyenne, Danica, Elle, Kennedy, Maya, and Raven

Some male names you might like: Aidan, Hunter, Marco, Preston, Quentin, Riley, and Tate

I don't really care abou the fashion though. I like exotic names. Marco? Too italian lol.

My favorite names for women are Rose, Danielle, Gabrielle,Muriel, Jessica and Morgan.

When I was little, I didn't even like my name. My parents couldn't think of anything else. So my given name is Gary and my middle name is Vincent(named after Catholic cardinal who baptized me). I was called Vincent in the 8th grade. Now I have accepted my name.
