What is the difference

Muslims in our country get the short end of the stick it seems. A president that supports Israel blindly is seen as having good judgement and if he harbors any sympathy towards Muslims...he is considered a "bad guy."


Anti-Muslim sentiment isn't considered bigoted but Anti-Semitic sentiment is bigoted.....and we wonder why terrorist groups want to get us... :roll:

 

It's just the crab mentality of the times we live in. Basically, anti-Muslim is seen as acceptable because, after all, "they are the ones doing all the terrorism". Honestly, i've heard plenty of people give that as a defense. Of course it's a sorry ass one but boy a popular one nonetheless.

 

as long as muslims (the ones looking for jihad anyway) are killing "all-american boys n' girls" over in Iraq and Afganistan, using suicide tactics and guerilla warfare (along with flying planes into buildings on US soil), they're always going to have a bad rep in america..

that's just how this cookie will crumble for a bit..

look how Obama had to scramble to ensure people that he wasn't a practicing muslim..

Bullshit, Obama hasn't "scrambled to ensure people that he wasn't a
practicing Muslim". Well at least not in the way he put the "black enough" to rest. On that issue, he played his cards right. He came out once and for all at the National Association of Black Journalist convention last year in Las Vegas, talked in depth about his identity and whether or not it should matter. And ever since then people have shut up about it.

I suggest he should do the same thing with the "Muslim" issue. Come out once and for all. Make it clear that whilst there ain't no damn thing wrong with being a practicing Muslim, you are neither one nor in cahoots with our "enemies".

And i bet you anyone else that tries to play that card again will look like the fool he is. Ever notice that no one talks about his blackness no more? I thought so.

 

That was the point I was getting at.....even though he's not a Muslim...what would it matter if he was.....we might actually be at an advantage overseas if he was...of course he would never get any votes....but I suspect it is all timing....20 years ago...a black man & white woman would never have a shot at the presidency.......50 years ago...it would have been tough for a Catholic......150 years ago....it would have been tough if you were simply Irish....

Abrahamic religion is a term commonly used to designate the three prevalent monotheistic religions-Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

To simplyfy, all of these religions are 'cousins' because they claim Abraham as part of their sacred history.
