I’ll have to try next time I’m in the US, whenever that may be. Probably not very soon.

Yeah, you have to make the best of what you're working with sometimes. High quality smallwares make such a huge difference. I feel for you on the stove issue; it's definitely a pain in the ass. I miss having a gas stove. Electric is okay, mine is an induction cooktop, which I do like better than the coils, but gas works best in my opinion. My house isn't set up for it though.

My house is an older model. Like many older homes, the construction itself is solid, but it needed a lot of upgrading when I bought it. I was making good progress on my kitchen until getting laid off from my well-paying job, so the process has slowed waaaaay down. lol Oh well, progress is still progress.

I would fix it so fast you would think I cheated you.

You still have to cook tho. :D

Don’t care how long it took you as long as it works.
So what do you want to eat? :)

I also have the induction thingy with ceramic stove top. They don’t really do gas any more over here. My mum bought me a set of Silit pots when I first moved out about 15 years ago. They are still alive and well! Never again will I buy kitchen ware from
Ikea LOL. Just not worth the compromise. Hope you can complete your kitchen some time soon.

So jealous...Silit cookware is awesome! I've had my eye on a set, but I've got a few priority purchases ahead of it on the list. Nope, definitely not worth it. lol Thanks. I hope your stove is fixed soon, too.

Didn’t know they sell Silit in the US...so I just checked Online and saw a stainless steel 10 pc set for 1500$...is that for real?? I mean they are a bit higher end here but not like THAT! At least double the price for the export?!!

Yep, it is crazy, but not surprising to me. They can be pricey, but there are better deals to be found if you look hard enough.

I'll have the special of the day. :)

Today I had a spinach salad with grilled chicken, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, a blend of mozzarella, and cheddar cheeses and honey mustard sauce.

    Excellent choice lol
Your salad sounds good, did you make that?

Making a Swiss food called Älplermagronen made of Maccaroni, potatoes, cream, Gruyere cheese. Similar to Mac n cheese. Something they traditionally eat in the mountains where they stay up on the mountains with their cows and sheep all summer so they can eat the fresh grass and make lots of milk. That’s for the kids though. My 35 y/o metabolism won’t forgive me for eating that kind of food lol.:D So I’m making myself something with chickpeas, I’ll see as I go.

They eat it with a sour apple sauce to balance the taste.

That sounds really good. I'm 54 y/o, but continuing to watch my figure, but I readily admit... Sometimes the struggle is real:D

Of course the struggle is real:)!
I try to keep a balanced diet and I cook my own food so I know what goes in there but it doesn’t mean I don’t indulge when something really means a lot to me...like dark chocolate;-)
I’m not too crazy about this one so it was easy to skip. Plus, I REALLY wanna be able to wear my pre-baby jeans some time soon :)#missionprebabyjeans
I walked 4 km today hoping by summer I can pull some sexy outfits from the bottom of my wardrobe :p.

    Yup

The trend with my salads is I prefer dark leaves rather than lettuce and I love mushrooms. I like avocados too but usually not in my salads. Mushrooms make anything good tho except for oatmeal. lol

Me, too. I like dark leaves like aragula, kale and spinach. Those light watery leaves taste like a wet tissue. Nobody needs that lol. Oats don’t need mushrooms because they are just the BEST on their own. I love oats. On their own or in home made Müsli. I prefer them soaked though, not cooked.
