There are some fun blogs out there and often the only way to discover them is through recommendation or word of mouth. So let met share with you a couple of really fun reads and maybe you can expand my horizon too!

This one I just discovered tonight and I love it! People find an old picture of themselves (usually as a child) and recreate it as close as possible in the present day. Heaps of fun.
    Young Me/Now Me

This one's pretty self-explanatory! People send in photos of shit their kids ruined.

I Heart Strangers is no longer in operation, but the archives are good for a squiz. This guy took a photo of a stranger every day for a couple of years and posted it on his blog along with a bit of a story about that person. Some great photos and some very interesting people!
    I Heart Strangers

PostSecret. Probably my favourite blog ever. It's turned into a worldwide phenomenon. People write secrets on the back of a postcard and send them to this guy Frank who uploads a selection to his blog every Sunday. Well worth tuning into!

"Leah Dieterich's mother always told her to write thank you notes. So she does. To everything. thxthxthx is her daily exercise in gratitude."
    THXTHXTHX

Not so regularly updated, but sometimes quite amusing. Ok Cupid, Kill Me is a blog where people submit amusing/quirky/ridiculous/awkward messages they recieve on Ok Cupid or other online dating sites.

There's a whole series of "Overheard"'s, but I'm pretty sure New York was the original. Try googling "Overheard" to see if there's one for your city. It is what it says it is - people send in funny things they overheard whilst going about their everyday business!

Another very self explanatory one! This is one of my faves! For anyone who's ever had room mates, you will appreciate this.
    Passive Aggressive Notes

One for the girls. GalaDarling is a fashion and lifestyle blog of a NZ girl living in NYC. It's worth reading for "Carousel" every Wednesday where she links you to all sorts of weird and wonderful things found around the internetz.
    Gala Darling

Most of you have probably heard of her. You either love her or hate her. I think her style of writing is great so I keep coming back for more...
    Dooce

And one last one. This isn't a blog, it's actually a web comic, but it's in my Google Reader and it's my favourite thing to read every day! It's hard to come in in the middle, but when I first got into it I went back to the start and read through the whole thing (may have taken me days, but still...!)
    Questionable Content

Also, if you're keen to read these blogs but can't be bothered checking them daily to see if they're updated, use Google Reader. It alerts you to updates.

    Enjoy! :smt031

Awesome, Jordan! I forgot about FML, definitely need to add that to my reader :D

I read a lot of personal blogs too, but didn't really link those. I might do a separate post with a list of my faves.

I thought of another one that is pretty cool. This girl takes old secondhand dresses and turns them into amazing stuff. Sounds stupid but she is ridiculously talented and creative.

Well, previously I had nothing to contribute because I didn't really read any blogs regularly.

But now I'm kinda enjoying a few. Thanks for the links, Whikle!

I read a new resident's blog (Dr. Psychobabble), she's highly entertaining with her stories from the wards and life in NY.

Oh, and one called Dr. Eye Candy - "don't reduce me to eye candy". She is a philosopher, novelist, societal commentator focusing on the portrayal of women in North America. She hasn't posted recently because she has decided to move to St. Kitts, "I have decided to move my 'one woman show' to the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis this September and become a 20 something eligible Kittitian."

Also, just little bits of random ones that have those "10 worst video games" or "10 worst music groups that made it big".

  13. I love reading dlisted.com daily. Humerous commentary on celebrities and oddities. I also enjoy http://markbittner.wordpress.com/; this is the guy who featured in the movie The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. I keep an eye on his blog for updates on the birdies. He makes some interesting political observations as well.
