What artist do you or did you have to BEGRUDGINGLY gives props to?

What musician or actor did you dismiss when they first came out but now you HAVE TO give it to them that they are the real deal.

Me: Beyonce

I always dismissed beyonce as a product of a pop machine. Daddy knowles unholy creation of ego and arrogance. Yeah she's hot but its no brainer to play up the body and all the songs were bubblegum pop nonsense that didn't really challenge her vocally. IMO Beyonce was all pop glam with little substance. And the politics behind destinys child really turned me off on her.

But over the last few years she shown some growth and maturity and is a hard worker plus her performance at the super bowl was outstanding..so yeah I GOTTA give it up...Beyonce is the real deal in terms of a good entertainment star....

Justin Timberlake. I wanted to dismiss him as just another boy band member. But that boy has some real talent, and he isn't a half bad actor either.

I believe I'd put P. Diddy in this category.

I used to think he was taking advantage of the demise of his best friend, Biggie...all of a sudden he busts into the lime light and becomes the hot new thing...he had videos, a tv show, a band...but after all these years, I realized he is talented and a mogul in his own right. Have to give him props, he does seem to be genuine about his passion and focused.

I'd say Beyonce is another one...

I actually understand kanye...I believe his passion and find him to be extremely talented. I don't much care for him, especially since it seems the fame and fortune has made him a complete prick.

lol...I actually like the dude. I think most hated on drake when he first came out. Saying he is soft, given his degrassi days and Canadian roots. I think the guy is quite talented...

I used to dislike her with a passion, but now...I actually like some of her stuff.

She's definitely not someone I listen to regularly but I have probably 3-4 of her tracks on my iPod. Those few tracks rotate through about 2,500 other songs on there, and thats about all the Nicki I can take

 

Yeah...Nicki's not really my thing, but she's proven she has what it takes to make it in many various genres. She is a bit too much for me to stomach moat days, but I do like her jagged edges, when she shows a more abrasive, rugged side...that's the Nicki I dig.
