Yeah i noticed how the chicago burbs are situated right on top of each other. I was out there recently and the towns change by the minute when your driving down the road.
Things I don't like about my area: 1. Honestly, too many students. The summer is the best when they are all gone, or the one's that are still here actually have to work for a living instead of living off mommy and daddy (and you'd be surprised to what extent they do this). 2. Way too cliquey. Everyone has a circle and they keep that shit TIGHT in the bean. If they or their people don't know you already, then you ain't cool. The idea of going out to meet people at the bar is foreign concept in the Northeast. You bring your own. 3. Lack of good Mexican food. You go out to the west coast and your in a different world. 4. People that live in a part of the country with variable climates, but they all decide to bitch and moan when it gets below 40 degrees like clockwork. They live here at their own volition! If you don't like cold, then don't live places where it gets cold! 5. Snow removal is an artform. Boston public works department is clearly not a cooperative of artists. 6. A lot of people who "pretend" to be homeless, and just choose to make a living asking others for change. There's this one guy in harvard square that wears a nicer coat than mine and supposedly put his kid through college. He's been in front of the same corner store for 10 years. I shit you not...
ATLANTA Dislike: Traffic is real bad, the worse in the South East City is real spread out so you do a lot of driving here Crime can be off the chain here in the upscale areas not just in the hood Weather is oximoron where it is 30 degrees one day the next day it's 60 and raining Atlanta has some fucked up drivers Cops here are real big assholes! 4.5 million people, too many for me Likes: A lot of women and I mean a lot!! 17 out of 20 women you meet here are single due to the enormous gay community. You don't need much game to pull the women here either. Price of living is hella low There is plenty to do and see in this city Very diverse city not just black/white folks anymore I like all of the transplants from other cities (a lot of NY,NJ,CALI,CHI.etc folks here) which makes this city stand out even more. Plenty Hispanics so you can always find a good Mexican Grill/Cuban spot.etc here. Strip clubs are really good You can see celebrities around town with out even looking for one
Denver is the same way. I saw a cyclist get run over by a truck and he was laying on the side of the intersection with a mangled bike and leg. I called 911 and they asked where I was at and what city. I said the cross streets and I said I think I am in Denver..........and the dispatch person said no maybe Sheridan, depending on which side of the intersection he is on. I said whatever the guy has a mangled leg is in pain and whoever you send from whatever city will be fine. I don't really dislike too much about Denver. Traffic sometimes sucks but then I go to other cities and realize it's not so bad.
For Italy add: 5. Strikes all the damn time 6. They pick up the garbage when they want to 7. Berlusconi on every channel
My ex husband is Mexician from Texas and I know decent Mexician food. There is a GREAT place on the Braintree/Weymouth line called El Sarape. Just got food from there tonight as I am starting a diet. Had chile rellanos
What do I hate about my area? It's ugly. It's boring. Too many damn bogans.:smt011 No work. I grew up here, so all the people I hated most from my childhood, still live here. My husband's not here (this is the thing I hate most about this place).
A bogan is 'White Trash'. Think 'trailer trash' and that's about it. Yup, jokes on me for sure. I chose to come back here (for work). I can't believe I did it now. I got away for a whole 10yrs and then I choose to come back to this shit hole. *sigh* Oh well...fingers crossed I'll escape, soon, once again.
