Was Integration Bad?

Here is a crazy article I found on the internet. The only thing that integration accomplished was black men marrying white women? This writer is totally off her rocker. I don't know where she got her stats from as only 10% of black men are married outside their race. Also, more black women are dating outside of their race than ever too. It's not our fault that some don't exercise their dating options to the fullest. This is some of the biggest load of bull that I've seen in a while. Hell, if it wasn't for integration, the only thing she would be doing is maid work.

Result of Integration Is Just Another Form of Racism
    by Pearl Jr.

The only significant result of integration is that Black men can now whistle at, date, have sex with, procreate, and marry White women and that is making my life, as a Black woman, much harder.

The integration of the public school system hasn’t increased the number of Black high school graduates— the dropout rate for African Americans is a whooping 50%, therefore forcing Historically Black Colleges to recruit Latino students to simply add to the declining enrollment. Sitting and eating together with White people hasn’t created more Black owned restaurant, which has dropped 80% since the mid 1960’s. Moving into so-called better White neighborhoods has made Black neighborhoods even poorer and more crime ridden because it took the much-needed role model/provider and protector out of the community. The Negro Baseball League, well it’s defunct, and now non-Blacks own the best of our best athletes. Furthermore, the percentage of successful Black people is the same as it was 100 years ago. Therefore taking all this into consideration, I stand by my statement that the ONLY significant result of integration is that Black men aren’t being lynched because a White woman said a Black man made a pass at her.

Due to the alarming trend of too many Black men abandoning their racial responsibilities in regards to being the provider and the protector of the Black race family, I have vowed to NOT purchase any products by any Black man that is currently spending my money on making sure his non-Black wife/woman lives comfortably. Heck, White men do a good enough job that White women don’t NEED our men to do what their men are most capable of doing. Currently, 60% of Black men who earn more than $100,000 annually (our consumer dollars) are married to non-Black women, to which most of them are highly visible professional athletes and other entertainers who earn millions and influence our youth.

Picture this—the non-Black wives of the few Black millionaires that exist have the best of everything: big house in a gated community, a Mercedes or BMW of her choice, Nanny for their children, much travel and leisure time (jet-setting), no job or income, while the majority of Black women are struggling to pay bills, being the mother and father to her children, attending college so to be the breadwinner, looked upon as the angry Black woman because she is too overwhelmed to be a shrinking violet, and most importantly looked upon as if she is some kind of supernatural he/she man that doesn’t need any acknowledgement of her pains and struggles.

I’m speaking up about this new form of racism. You’re damn right, it’s playa hatin because the game is fixed to go to the White runner and cheating has been going on for far too long. White women have the best PR via the media being honored and rarely disrespected. Contrarily, Black women are bi-at-ches and hos in nearly every hip hop hit, and on nearly all videos.

The Black race is in serious trouble and we can’t afford to have one more sell-out abandoning Black male turn his back on his racial responsibilities without the consequence of losing my Black dollars that support him. Tina Turner had it right, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” when it hurts so badly. Black men with resources mated up with non-Black women will continue the devaluing of Black females, which is connected to lowering the recycling of Black dollars and the abandonment of support for Black organizations.

As I pondered about telling the truth about a few high profile powerful Black men, I realized that I pay their bills and they don’t pay mine. I am no longer supporting them either by watching them on TV or in movies, buying their records, supporting any products they promote, or contributing anything to someone who doesn’t care about my feelings or my plight as a Black woman, which inevitably includes their own Black daughters.

~ Flava Flav is making a fool out of Black women on his new cable show. And to add insult to injury, wasn’t he the front man of the conscious rap group Public Enemy?

~ Nick Cannon from the movie “Drumline” and some other show on a cable network commented in a magazine that he was addicted to White girls.

~ Usher made a flop of a movie chasing a White girl and now that he has a new album, I’m seeing him in anything that targets the Black audience. Now he wants the same disrespected little broken hearted Black girls (his core audience) to forgive and rescue his career by buying his new album, hmmm!

~ Tiger “Cablasian” Woods married a White nanny. Now, we all know if a Black female nanny was just as beautiful as that White woman, he would have never given her a chance. A sistah would need to have a couple of MBA’s, Ph.d’s, MD’s and a trust fund to even be considered. My bad! Nothing would probably help because his words tell me he HATES his Blackness.

~ Kobe Bryant had a myriad of Black girls crying when in an interview he yelled, “you see this ring you can’t have me”, and then was caught on some secret trip to Colorado cheating on his Latino-set for life-wife with a White girl hostess that worked in a hotel lobby who now lives in a mansion, drives a luxury car, and has all the diamonds Kobe’s money can buy because he couldn’t resist the temptation of a 19 year old White girl.

Furthermore, I heard Charles Barkley bragging about him and his White wife hanging with Tiger and his White wife, and Tony Parker with his non-Black girlfriend, Eva Longoria, at a golf course having a wonderful time pretending racism doesn’t exist because they are interracially loving. But in reality their cult to dismiss Black women is the newest form of racism. Do you think these non-Black women want any sistahs around reminding Black men that we need them and their resources because we are dying without them? Hell No! Further influencing these men to pretend Black women and Black race issues are irrelevant in their lives by telling them that race doesn’t matter and they are so glad that racism is over.

Now don’t get me wrong, money isn’t everything, but anyone who wins a million dollars in a lottery would be more than ecstatic and that includes many of us Strong Independent Black women who work their butts off to have happiness despite the world around them.

This integration reality isn’t the dream that Martin Luther King, Jr. prayed for. One of the biggest reasons that the acceptance and the promotion of Black men with non-Black women is because it re- enforces the belief that Black women are only "f*ckable" and not "loveable", which means that an exuberant number of Black children will have a hard road to tow in life because of the reluctant or missing father/role model. The overwhelmed and overstressed Black woman will inevitably be too depressed to make any significant growth for herself and her children and that mental distraction makes it difficult to think clearly and love clearly.

To my beautiful hard-working sistahs, we need more men to assist in our communities because without them to provide and protect, we are headed to hell in a hand basket. The results are in.

To learn what to do about this alarming form of racism against Black women, please order a copy of my book, Black Women Need Love, Too! Exposing the Conspiracy To Keep Black Women Without Love. Available on amazon.com. I connect the dots to several more debilitating occurrences and explain what we can do to stop the bleeding. This is a “how to” book that works!

It focuses on the BEST INTEREST OF BLACK WOMEN, which encompasses the BEST INTEREST OF THE BLACK RACE FAMILY.

Yep, I second that!! Unbelievable that someone would rather live under Jim Crow and public lynchings than to see a black man happy with the partner of his choice. What she will propose next? Deed of ownership and iron chains on your feet?

If she would spend a little more time to attain some common sense, then maybe one of the approx. 90% intraracial dating black men would be ready to spend some time with her....

I can understand why she wrote what she did.
I'm not for the return of Jim Crow laws but I don't think she is either.

She made some very valid points.

    She's not off her rocker.

She's right in that every successful black man that marries a non-black woman ends the possibility of one more successful black family existing. Successful strong black families are on the decline. I can't sit back and act like I'm not concerned about this, because I am. Not that it isn't possible for me to love a black woman genuinely, sometimes I feel it's my duty as a successful black man to show the world and more importantly the black community what a strong black family is all about. Yeah! I know I got something to prove, but I feel it's for a justified cause.

It seems that they think all of us come from single parent homes. Some people assume before I speak that my pops was a "deadbeat dad," but he wasn't. He just happened to be a good black man that died from cancer when his son was young, not in a gang shootout, or an overdose, or anything like that. It troubles me when people think like that.

    Crap...Crap...and more Crap!!!

First of all, it is and it never will be my responsibility or duty to marry a black woman for the purpose of continuing the black race. This is very reminiscent of white supremacist and nationalist that claim that it is their responsibility to keep white Aryan blood pure by not mixing with non-whites. We call these people racist and bigots. This woman is no different. She went on and on with these long drawn out soliloquy claiming that integration has only freed black men to chase after white women without fear of reprisal. That is so irresponsible. When are people going to learn that you are accountable for not only your actions but your words as well. When a public statement is made, such as this one, accuracy and responsibility should be at the forefront of the motivation behind speaking or writing.

I would love to pick apart this essay line by line but it serves no purpose because she won't read it nor would she listen to a educated black man that dates outside his race.

I just want you, the members of this board, to ponder one thing. The only black men that dated inter racially or played a character in a movie that dated inter racially were wealthy and famous. Is she not upset about the blue collar interracial dater? Is she not upset about the black man who works his ass off for 40 hours a week and only brings home 30k to his white wife?

I happen to be a man of means and I don't mention this to brag only to further illustrate my frustration. Having money that doesn't force you into some civic responsibility to save everyone. Honestly, based on her essay, I doubt she'd look at a black man that didn't drive a nice car or had a nice job. I think she'd probably be happy a white woman took a struggling black man off the hands of black women.

I've had to swallow this, "Where's your pride and sense of duty?" crap for years. I'm sick of it. I am a man above all things, a man who just happens to be black. Black is a description, a means to help someone pick me out of a crowd, just as bald, brown eyes, etc. This is a tired argument that because I was born black, I have to spend the rest of my life paying for it. I refuse. One of these days I will find a woman that I will break my back to make happy. I will sweep her off her feet and ensure she never touches the ground. I will celebrate in her triumphs and mourn her defeats. I'll be her rock, her salvation and the reason for her laughter and joy. I'll love her with every single part of me, aggressively and with zeal. I'll introduce her to the feeling of elation with every passing day.

If this woman who spends the rest of her life in a state of bliss just happens to be white - so be it. I won't feel shame nor will I feel regret. I will not be forced to love anyone or feel bad about who I love.

Get over it "sistah" if she spent more time and energy on bettering herself she would find a man that appreciated who she really is. Now excuse me, now that integration is over I have more white women to look at!

I, for one, appreciate that you spoke about the need to fulfill a "duty" to the black community because I have had those same, I'll call them pressures, pushed on me as well.
I've seen it and in speaking to other "successful" black men that had been outside of the race for mates, it is something real.

I feel the pull of "What's best of the black community" vs. "What I want" and there is some type of equilibrium that I work to reach if for nothing more than my own peace of mind.

If others can't see it or have never had to deal with it, I say "God bless you." But it is a very real factor for some of us that turning away won't fix.

I am on the same page as Tmass here, and it should be more than obvious to the people in this site as to why. Along with that, after reading through only half of the article, if you think about it, this is all the exact same kind of horse-shit that has been shoved down the throats of many, many, many black men who happen to be involved or interested in (as well as have a preference for) white women, and no matter what they say or do, as black men who are having or are interested in having relations with white women (especially the kind of class that blatantly resides on these boards, you know, educated, intelligent, romantic, thoughtful, financially stable, modest,etc.... well, this is what I see in most of the men who post in here) NOTHING WILL EVER BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE OPPOSED TO IT, BLACK WOMEN OR NOT, and what's the point of even attempting to please the ever-displeased, the lonely, the jealous, the paranoid, and the miserable, even if YOU KNOW that it gets you nowhere in the long run, along with also knowing that you're just playing the puppet on strings for all of this negative BS?

This 'sista' who wrote that article is not only singing a tired drama song about the 'plight' of black women and their so-called shortage of men, but also repeating what is has been discussed constantly in here again and again, with the members and the trolls in here who invade the website, but then talk the hypocritical talk about our right to choose and so forth.

I love you, SardonicGenie. I love you too much, man. You always put it as it is. Hey, as black men, it is our responsibility to turn the black race perfect; we must marry black women, the black race's problems are our faults and whenever everything goes bad, do not hesitate to point the finger at the black man. God, i love people like this woman.

Granted, she raises some valid points such as this part:

However, i object to her saying that eating with white people has not increased black-owned businesses. I really do not like to make references which are not correct but i remember reading somewhere that the amount of black CEOs and businesses have risen rapidly from even the 90s, let alone Jim Crow era. So i wonder where this woman is making up this bullshit from. If she believes that the amount of successful blacks are the same as they were 100 years ago, that would mean that either there were so many black millionaires back in 1906 OR blacks are as poor as they were back in Jim Crow, which as we know, neither is true. If black America were a seperate country, we'd be the 16th wealthiest country in the world. Was that true 100 years ago? I do not think so. Also, i really do not like the way the way she says that out best athletes are owned by white men. It carries a negative thought which i think is obvious and these guys are human beings and not tools for the love of Jesus Christ.

For her to say that the only significant result of integration is that Black men aren’t being lynched because a White woman said a Black man made a pass at her is just out of this world. Blacks can now play in the NFL, NBA, MLB and what have you. They can have their own businesses and can buy stakes in just about anything business they want. They can live anywhere they want and can purchase homes. They can expect to attend the same schools as whites. They can go to the same restaurants as whites. They can use the same restrooms as whites. I am not hinting that discriminatory practises no longer exist but for the most part, it's changed since 1964.

As far as i am concerned, black men are no more entitled or obligated to marry black women as white men are to marry white women. All parties do so because that is their comfort zone and that is what they can relate to. I do not have to marry a black woman because we are both black and a black woman does not have to be attracted to me because i share the same skin hue as she does. We are not responsible for our races in no way. Sure, we should do positive things for the black race but we are under no responsibility to do so. I was not born for anyone but myself regardless if they are black or not. You rarely hear white people say they are responsible for the white race or they are entitled to marry other whites and if they do, we'd call them racists. We should not share a similar sentiment if we'd not accept it from whites.

This woman has the right not buy anything from a black man married to a black woman. That's her right. She is not going to make those guys any poorer. [I bet when i become a private attorney and write my book, she aint gonna buy it.]. I am not sure about her sources but i know for a fact that most rich black men are married to black women. At least the last time i checked. I really hate it when people exaggerate to make themselves seem right

The last time i checked, there was no such thing as a racial responsibility. This is indeed the first time i have come across such a phrase. I am no more responsible for the black race than my fiancee is responsible for the Latino ethnicitiy. Why do some people say some stupid things?

Now i would like someone to prove this is true and tell me the source. End of story.

Whatever. I don't even wanna comment on this as it does not even deserve one.

Yeah, I know exactly how you feel except that I'm not working for an equilibrium. It's more like a merge of the two for me. One day I want to be able to say what I want is what's best for the black community. That's my dream.

I don't dismiss what they have to say. I consider it, but usually at the end of the day I still feel the same way as I did from the beginning. Besides, I see it everyday. How could I turn my head? My conscience would eat me alive.

I have never understood the “Baby with the bathwater” factor that goes on most time.
The “sista” made some good points but the fear of someone expressing their “stick with your kind” beliefs means cast out any reason or logic with some folks here.
For the record I don’t agree with everything she wrote.
I felt compelled to write that least I get branded with the old “troll” label for not following the company line as laid down by the powers that be.

"You rarely hear white people say they are responsible for the white race or they are entitled to marry other whites and if they do, we'd call them racists. We should not share a similar sentiment if we'd not accept it from whites."

First, although some of the point the author makes are good, I disagree with the foundation what seems to be her over all argument. I believe it's very dangerous and limiting to right off the enormous work brought about by the civil rights movement as "black men running to white women." It's obviously that she thinks too much of white women or to little of black men to make come to such a limited conclusion.

Second, I have some questions about your comments above. Do you mind explaining why you believe that the black person who believes that he or she is responsible for marrying another black person is the same as a white person who believes that he or she is responsible for whites?

For the most part, I agree with the writer of the essay.

The black community & black culture face serious challenges, not the least of which is that the pogrom and stigma against black people in the U.S. is far from dead. Obviously, stronger relations among those most challenged by this pogrom & stigma is great for protecting our children against it. Black-on-black love can be refuge in the storm -- refuge that, on the whole, non-black people wouldn't offer us even if they could.

...But the key words there are "can be." In reality, black-on-black love is no refuge, because black female "consciousness" begins and ends with "don't date those white women".

Respecting your average black man, and choosing the dignity of black people over the immediate gratification of venting grudges against black men to assuage insecurities is beyond the pale for most black women. Recognizing decency in your average black man, and choosing that over the guy who can bring her the "drama" she craves is also beyond most black women.

....And ask a black woman to spend her $$ only where she sees that black people can work? She'll laugh in your face and march right down to the corner korean nail salon/yak-hair store/"deli" to throw profit to people who for the most part would call her children animals.

Ask her to stop wasting the millions of dollars that flow out of the black community into the hands of those who make and sell hair-straightening products. That'll sober up any "black consciousness" on the part of most black women.

What's more, if black women could en mass find non-black men who would respect them, have them and marry them, you would see them "sell out" on a scale that would dwarf the numbers of bm/ww couples by giant multitudes. Already the relatively small numbers of black women who date white men are known for going out of their way to insult black men, basically for the white guy's entertainment. That's a clue. If black women really saw white men as a viable alternative, many, many more of them would "try something new", and you wouldn't see essays like the one in this thread; instead you'd be hearing stuff like "free your mind and the world will follow, be color-blind, don't be so shallow," like when there was a mini-trend of bw dating white men in the late '80s, early '90s.

    ----

...And that's just the start of it. To make a long story short, black women appeal to the "duty" of black men and point to the future of black people only when it's in their very narrow interests to do so. They have no problem if we (and they) are alone -- many of them are proud to declare that they don't need a man, and keep an "attitude" to prove it. It's when bm become determined to find alternatives to being alone, in any significant numbers, that bw start to point to our "duty" to the black community.

    ---

When all that stuff changes, I'll wholeheartedly agree with the "sistah" who penned that essay, and chastise the guys for "dating out" in the midst of the modern pogrom and taboo against black (which is actually getting worse, as the political pedulum swings to the right, as social engineering via media becomes more subtle and sophisticated, and as the nation is inundated with new waves of mercenary and small-minded immigrant groups).

...But in the meanwhile, I can definitely understand the guys who recognize that a black man with a decent woman is better off than the man without, even if the woman happens to be nonblack.

    ----

Now that's a surprise (the bolded part). Okay, keep it coming sis & you may win decent guys like me over...

It's true, we're at a critical juncture and the black community is dying -- spiritually and physically -- because our foundation is crumbling... Question is, what are you willing to change to fix that?
