She's definitely far from fat or sloppy-looking; I think it's excellent they've finally put a BM in the QB Hall of Fame. It's always nice to make history.

Warren Moon Makes History in Election into Hall of Fame

DETROIT _ Based on his football history, Warren Moon knew better than to expect selection into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday in his first year of eligibility.

After high school, Moon had to play at, among other places, a junior college in Los Angeles and in the Canadian Football League before reaching the NFL.

"If it doesn't happen, `Well, this is the way it's kind of been anyway,' " Moon reasoned. "So it's going to happen again, but as long as it eventually happens."

The former Vikings quarterback was pleasantly surprised when he was one of the six players chosen by a panel of 39 media members, becoming the first African-American quarterback of the modern era in the Hall of Fame.

    .......

Moon, even after playing his first six professional seasons in the CFL, played 17 seasons in the NFL. And Aikman won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys in four seasons, while Moon was unable to reach the Super Bowl.

While he lamented the final fact, Moon said his unusual career path made his selection all the more meaningful. Moon is the first undrafted quarterback to be elected into the Hall of Fame.

"No question about it, because I know that this wasn't given to me," said Moon, who is also in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. "It wasn't an easy journey. It was an unconventional journey, but a journey I was willing to take, and I wasn't going to let anything get in my way to stop it. I'm glad I had the strength and the fortitude to keep going."

    .......

Respectful of the history of African-American quarterbacks, Moon shared his selection with predecessors like Willie Thrower, Doug Williams and James Harris. In fact, Moon said he cried when Williams won the Super Bowl MVP award.

"To be the first African-American quarterback into the Hall of Fame, all African-American QBs who played before me should share in this," Moon said.

"They made strides over the years. I don't want to make this a racial thing, because it shouldn't be, but it is significant because it s the first, and whenever there is the first, it is significant.

"This can also show that we have arrived at the pinnacle of our sport." In a statement, Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair credited Moon for helping pave the way for him. "Growing up wanting to play quarterback, he was an inspiration to me and my brothers," said McNair, a former co-MVP. "Minority quarterbacks were few and far between, but Warren's play ensured that those coming behind him wouldn't have to change positions to find a place in the NFL."

Williams attended the news conference, and he applauded voters for electing Moon and disputed arguments against Moon because of his lack of Super Bowl titles.

"I always said this: If Fran Tarkenton, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly and Dan Fouts are in the Hall of Fame, I couldn't see anything to keep Warren Moon out because he had everything they had," Williams said, referring to four prominent white quarterbacks who did not win Super Bowls. "They didn't have no more than he had. I think what speaks for itself are the numbers. Whether or not he was black or white, let's go to the numbers."

Moon resisted thinking about who would introduce him when he is inducted in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 5-6, because he didn't want to get ahead of himself.

"I'm glad it's over with now," he said. "It's a relief and honor."

I was either not interested in football when he played, or i was too young to have seen him play. Anyway, I heard that he had some killer stats in the regular season, but he wasn't too good in the playoffs (kinda like Peyton Manning you know). I'm glad that he made it into the hall as a football player, but man, i hate his analysis on FSN. Talk about boOOring :smt015 . I think the next black quarterback to get in after him will be Donovan McNabb though. He's a great player. Sorry for rambling. I'm just a huge fan of the NFL. :D

Whoa, what kind of MAN talks like this??????????

    Who`s the Boss...you are either:

    1) A blind, jealous and very frustrated black man

    2) An angry, frustrated and jealous black woman (Yeah I said it!!)

    3) Both of the above (which confuses me...and probably yourself  )

    4) An alien who can`t appreciate simple human beauty

    Warren Moon`s woman looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
