Daniel Craig is back as superspy James Bond in Spectre with the first pic of 007 in action just released along with early behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot in Austria.
SPECTRE. How I miss that part of the Rogues Gallery of Villains from the James Bond series. I thought that the organization Quantum would replace SPECTRE in the Daniel Craig era. It would not surprise me that Quantum would become SPECTRE. In the Ian Fleming books, SPECTRE was made up war criminals, anarchist, mercenaries, scientists, businessmen, politicians and other shadowy people in the quest of power and control. I recall that the working title was called Come And Dive and Penelope Cruz will be in this film. It looks interesting.
to me bond movies are the best series compated to the other movie series. jaws shouldve stopped at the first. star wars has its ups and downs. terminator was to me getting bad the bonds were pretty good
James Bond, to me, is a man who expects action around every corner. He is game for it. While in the movies, he is pretty much flawless. But in the earlier books that inspired the film series, he was less than perfect. He had failed missions. He had been captured and tortured. George Lazenby's Bond was the only Bond to get married legally and emotionally. When his wife was murdered by Ernst Stavro Blofeld of SPECTRE, Bond became revenge motivated and it became the motivation for Roger Moore's Bond. Timothy Dalton briefly explored Bond's limitations as well as his professionalism. Dalton wanted to bring humanity to Bond. Pierce Brosnan(who was once approached by Cubby Broccoli to play Bond after watching him in Remington Steele and his first wife Cassandra was a Bond girl in For Your Eyes Only before she died of cancer)played the WHOLE character of James Bond, probably a who lot better than Roger Moore, who relied on humor because he saw Bond as a hero, a clown, man of action, lover and a cartoon. Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond was very physical and very human. He is simply a killing machine when he is given the orders to do so. Sean Connery's Bond was perfect in almost every way because that is the way the movies wanted him to be. He had it all, looks, charm, humor, a taste for the good life and knowledge of many things. I am sure that Idris Elba will be studying the qualities of these actors to make his own name as James Bond. The Bond series has endured for quite some time, barring a few details like who was the weakest character(Brit Ekland's Mary Goodnight was a little bit useless on The Man With The Golden Gun and Tanya Roberts was considered the dumbest on A View To A Kill. She and Roger Moore didn't get along in that film and they barely tolerated each other), to which song or score was weak, as well(Eric Serra's score was weak on Goldeneye, which had only one piece of music that was good called Song For Severnya). I sometimes have fun trying to remember which Bond villains were members of or associated with SPECTRE, and which were independent. Which films had connection to other Bond films(like The Spy Who Loved Me being a remake of You Only Live Twice, for instance). James Bond never disappointed me as a fan.
