just finished replayin silent hill 2 on original xbox, def has the most disturbing story in a vdieo game ive played

 

It definitely did. And what makes it more disturbing is:

1. It's believable through characters and their interaction with one another.

2. It's a personal story based on the main character.

I have played SH3 and it's pretty disturbing too. Gave it a whirl?

 

yeah i love 3 aswell, the name of the end boss was creepy aswell lol, i have played 4 but didnt finish it, had one nasty scene i remember, i loved shatterd memories on the wii though

 

Hahahaha, I was so disappointed in the final boss, but I understood why they designed the boss to be that way. I didn't finish SH4 either because it was just too boring and cumbersome and wasn't all that scary. But the music was nice to boot.

I never played Shattered Memories, but it is a pretty nice game from what I hear. A true adventure title and really did a good job as part of the re-imagined franchise.

You should try the latest Silent Hill game: Downpour.

yea i saw that last year looks good, i liked homecomming aswell great music, i played origins on psp that was good, i like in shatterd memories you use the wii mote to control the flash light, i also replayed the first one on ps1 not long ago, still a creepy game and still great even today, but alot agree the games have declined since team silent dont do them anymore, i still like them even today

 

I still have hope for the franchise. But the unfortunate thing is that not all great franchises can keep up with the times. The Silent Hill series started off as more of a psychological horror response to the Resident Evil franchise and their B-movie scares. But I think down the line, thanks to the popularity and success of the first two games, it had a difficult time keeping itself afloat. Sure, Silent Hill 3 was a great game, but wasn't AS memorable as the first two games.

It'll be a while before we'll see a major reboot of the franchise that received the same kind of praise as the first two games. So for now, let's just enjoy what they've delivered and here's hoping Downpour will be the big one, despite not the original team working on it.

It's really entertaining! But if you're strictly looking into the gameplay, then you might fall short of expectation. Rather, view this game as more of a graphic interactive novel that leave you guessing.
