I guess this story is just in time for Halloween...When I read this article, all I could think about was the movie Soylent Green, albeit they aren't euthanizing people, lol. Still, it's a bit creepy, and illegal, to use human fat in this way. How a Beverly Hills doctor powered his SUV using his patients' spare tires. Liposuctioning unwanted blubber out of pampered Los Angelenos may not seem like a dream job, but it has its perks. Free fuel is one of them. For a time, Beverly Hills doctor Craig Alan Bittner turned the fat he removed from patients into biodiesel that fueled his Ford SUV and his girlfriend's Lincoln Navigator. Although it's unclear when Bittner started and stopped making fat fuel or how he made it, his activities came to light after recent lawsuits filed by patients that allege he allowed his assistant and his girlfriend to perform surgeries without a medical license. Attorney Andrew Besser, who represents three patients, says the assistant and girlfriend removed too much fat from clients and left them disfigured. Dozens of other patients have complained to the state medical board, Besser says. The board is investigating Bittner but declined to comment. The investigations, however, might go nowhere: Bittner closed his practice, Beverly Hills Liposculpture, in November and moved to South America to do volunteer work at a clinic, according to a note on his Web site. Besser says Bittner likely fled the country because of the investigations. Bittner's lawyer didn't return calls seeking comment. Uh oh Before you know they will be using human bodies as fuel. Soylent green for the new age. The problem isn't killing millions of people but what to do with the bodies.
Perhaps the rich will pay the obese to fuel their cars? Then the obese will become the rich. On the other hand, they may just put the obese people in cages and farm the fat.
How trite lol. It would probably just make the rich richer because they could actually store the fat or sell the fat to other rich people lol
Maybe this'll open up the possibility for "fat banks", much like blood banks. Then, those with excess fat can make deposits, get paid and trim up in the process..It sounds like a win win to me.
That sounds like something I came up with a long time ago. Hmmm, how deviant and oh so beautiful we are.
Don't you have a finite number of fat cells in your body. No one is going to drive forever on their own supply.
