Unemployed? Go to North Dakota

Sounds like Dodge City, circa 1870s. But instead of the cattle boom, the town is built on oil extraction.
Wonder what kind of work there is for POs there. Seems like cops would be in high demand big time.

 

Big demand for police and security. Big demand for all types of labor from uneducated no-skill mofos to people with 4 year degress.

The sheriff and local police are swamped because they were never set up for the large influx of people coming in along with their issues.

I believe the unemployment rate there is one of the lowest in the country below 4%.

All types of mofos from all over America flood into ND around this time under the impression they will get to work real quick, but get a rude awakeing when they arrive.

When I was there last spring, I met 2 brothas that were cousins that drove all the way from Florida looking for work. I met a unemployed latino carpenter from San Diego that drove up there looking for work.

Like, I stated before....it's North Dakota.....there ain't nothing there. So if you are used to going shopping at Best Buy, Lowe's, Bed Bath and Beyond...you are used to going out regularly to nice restauarants like PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory....if you like hitting the grown folks club on friday night....or into any other non-work activity.....you ain't gonna find it there.

That's why folks when they get hired work like slaves for 14-16 hours a day cuz they ain't got shit else to do.

 

Isn't ND where they're doing fracking? I read about that, and how people are sleeping in their trucks in Walmart parking lots because they can't build the motels fast enough.

But what you described BB about the m/f ratio is like that in Alaska -- wherever the oil rigs are, a woman is always welcomed. They were even touting these areas as a go-to place for single women.

 

Fracking is being done in the continental USA in all states where they are drilling.

It's being done in Cali, Utah, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kansas, etc.......

And yes, people do sleep in their vehicles, but it is only allowed in spring/summer. Not in the winter because of the extreme cold.

And like I said about ND, it is not friendly to women.

If you are a single woman heading up there, make sure you have a safe secure place to stay before going there, and Do Not Sleep In Your Car.

BB,that is true indeed. No woman should show up in ND since most of them would either be too tired from working or being a sex worker.
