Yea, it was pretty funny. I almost made a thread about it, but then I forgot to do it.

i went to college in MS with the black woman star of Undercover Brother, I think her name is Enjenu or something of that spelling. she also played with Cuba Gooding Jr. I had a big crush on her because she was nice to me

I think that the director and the producers made a serious mistake by not having Denise get busy with Eddie ('Undercover Brother') in this flick. I was extremely disappointed.

I was thinking the same thing when I first watched it. (Although I kind of expected it.)

I think that when it comes to IR onscreen, progress is actually cyclical in nature. Meaning, there will be a period where things seem to be moving forward only to regress later. Then a movie comes out where ir is prominent, it seems as though things are changing then out comes a few films where the ir is avoided.

That's why we can watch a movie like the original "Shaft" which was released more than 30 years ago and get Roundtree in an ir scene, then in the late 90's you get a chaste Shaft remake.

I get the feeling if Undercover Brother was released during the so called "Blaxploitation" era, Undercover Brother would have actually gotten with D. Richards.

You ain't the only one! Frankly though, I'd rather see Denise Richards get "Shafted."

I think you guys are a little obsessed about the situation. They finally got a "big shot" actress to do the IR thing, and you're still not satisfied because they didn't have a sex scene. You'll never be satisfied. Clearly they were trying to put more emphasis on stereotypes than some stupid sex scene. It's not like they're doing it in real life. I'm mean it's just a movie!

Plus I get the feeling Eddie wouldn't want a part in that anyways. He already would be catching some heat for doing the movie alone. I get the feeling that she would've been down (She's kind of old anyways. What does she have to lose?), but he didn't want to take it too far. Anybody seen any of his stand up routines? He's very conscientious about race.

I don't know if i'm obsessed but I do have a habit of recognizing patterns. I notice all kinds of things in films. If a cup is misplaced from shot to shot, if the boom mike dangles into frame for a split second. A war movie where one of the weapons is from the wrong era, a revolver that gets seven shots during a shootout instead of six... you get the idea. Ironically the easiest thing to spot is the huge difference in the handling of BM (and AM) as opposed to WM in movies irregardless of popularity, sex appeal or box office draw.

I didn't need a sex scene in UB although I think a brief one would have been okay with the characters as written. A simple peck would have been fine though.

Undercover Brother was a good movie, just not a good IR movie IMO. Does it need to be a full out sex scene? Not necessarily, but just having BM/WW on screen at the same time while obviously avoiding physical contact falls short of true IR.

You had hit it on the head!!!! A good or next to good IR flick would have more than just kissing and flirtation. The movie Shaft was excellent where they have a IR love scene. UB is a comedy but a lame one as far as IR are concerned.
