Here u go again with ur anti student athlete agenda Why you never post about the players that excel in the classroom too Or the ones who get Rhodes scholarships Or the ones who do community service or other acts off field
Not surprising. The college graduation rate, especially with the men's basketball teams, tend to be less than 30%.
Show me a rhode scholar athlete and i will show u someone who is riding the bench reading books for next weeks exams
Are you fucking serious http://www.sbnation.com/longform/20...ile-florida-state-football-nfl-rhodes-scholar
Dude was an all American with nfl potential, who decided to accept only one of the most prestigious scholarships in the world All u had to do was google and stop trolling me U know sports are home to some very bright people.....and plenty of dummies...to be fair It wasn't uncommon to see football players back at my high school on academic status as well Makes you realize how pathetic you really are when people can excel at anything they do
Lol. The problem is the money....they dpnt care bout those kids getting an education. Just on saturday alone the game is three hours..the travel to the game ...saturday is gone. You are too busted up to study sunday...not to mention practice. So yeah they are gonna cheat. No time to study
Well yeah it's a known fact that, next to wrestling, football is one of the toughest school sports to play That's what my tennis coach told me when I first joined the team There's a reason people expect tennis or golf players to perform better in the classroom
Why not just create Sports Universities/Colleges with a side of education. Those that want to play sports can play other colleges who want to play sports.
The wrestlers I knew had a running gag about me being soft for playing tennis Funny coming from 'macho' men in tights hugging each other for points  Tennis was fun tho It requires athleticism and work ethic but was not NEARLY as grueling as even the non-padded football practices I had Those alone weeded out the non believers
If I'm not mistaken sound countries do have sports type academies I definitely know they have ones for soccer The whole thing tho with the idea of being a student athlete is education first, sports second Somewhere along the way that belief became perverted, however, as the expectations of college players and high school, to an extent, were significantly raised Players are expected to fill 100,000 seat stadiums with fans, and that brings a lot of pressure to perform But still you do have many players who graduate with degrees while playing sports. You also have many people that have trouble getting into college period, let alone graduating without playing a sport ever
It got perverted once it got in college. I heard a guy on the same level of w.e.b dubois at that time saying football will ruin education
not to be to technical but dude was overrated coming out of high school, given way too much hype , hips way to stiff never thought he was a NFL player anyway ( unless he moved to full back or linebacker
