Anyone played the demo for this yet? I keep hearing positive reviews from people I know, so maybe it has some promise or my sources have poor taste in games. As a fan of the UFC/MMA, i'm looking forward to actually buying the game (last game I bought was Call of Duty:World at War for ps3)
Never was a fan of the UFC games. They were always the same to me. I got it for the Dreamcast, and the fights are over to quick, at least in the earlier versions. They tap out immediately after being put into submission.
my handle is hawkinge i played the demo and it's really intricate.. when I jacked the difficulty to expert, Shogun Rua immediately took me to the ground and worked his jiu-jitsu, as my chuck lidell got owned just like watching a fight i'll probably pick that up next week as well
this one is completely different mate.. if you are able to download the demo, i'd suggest you try it like you, I had ufc for the dreamcast this one is a big improvement the fights can last a long time, but you have to be just as skilled in your defense, as well as you offense.. you have to have good standup game (striking, countering, blocking) and good ground game (transitioning, getting out of submissions, striking, etc) i can see this game being a nice hit online, with skilled opponents
id recommend going through the tutorial, and jacking the difficulty to advanced or expert.. then you really get to appreciate the MMA science
gettin pretty close, sons few more days mayne and im off work when it drops although im still mastering chuck liddel's arsenal.. let alone all of the fighters and their styles, that comes with the full game
I haven't had much time to get practice in, but I'll be more than ready to get caught up and kick some ass in a few weeks (when I get back from Guatemala).
Damn. So many good games out. I'm HELLA slackin'. Then there's more badass games coming out at the end of the year. Fuckin' Asassin's Creed2, the Red Dead Redemption game, Max Payne 3(FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!), and hella others man.
:smt119 j/k I had a 360 and loved the hell outta it, until it crapped out on me after Test Drive Unlimited hit the streets. As for the game itself, lets just say that I haven't played a game while lyin' down in bed, about to go to sleep, since I was like 20. Seven years later, I'm avoiding sleep before work, by playing the UFC demo I'm also waiting for NCAA Football 10 to drop. That usually hit's the spot each year, but I need to check what's new this year, before just firing up my copy from last year.
Yeah, my 360 crapped out on me almost a year ago. I've been resuscitating it by using the infamous "towel trick". But the system sounds like shit. I cringe every time I hear that fucking grinding noise while my game is in there. I don't want to take out a chainsawed disc. Fuck Microsoft. I've been too lazy to go through the process of sending it in to get fixed. I don't wanna wait 4-6 weeks. Plus, my 360 is my primary source as a dvd player. Plus, I used my 360 to watch Naruto from my flash drive. :smt033
I use my 360 for Netflix streaming, mainly. My PS3 is my system of choice. petty, you about ready? 3 more days brotha...
I cranked it up to expert with Chuck, since I kept beating the piss out of Rua on advanced.. I got a nice 2 jab, straight, signature overhand right + no biscuit combo down-packed but on expert, Shogun does what a BJJ specialist does, and takes the fight to the ground and keeps making chuck tap.. Kinda like Shogun's fight with Silva, where he kept wanting to take the fight to the ground, to show off his superior BJJ, instead of standing up with a knockout artist. But, back to the gameplay, you always have a chance to come out on top, which is why I like it. Just like in a real UFC fight, I got submitted, even tho I was lumping up Shogun's ass, without him really doing any prior damage.
God dammit. You're just trying to get me to haul my shit out of my room all the way to the other side of my house to download this badass demo, ain't cha?
it's not street fighter you have to be just as good off your back, as you would standing up... as a co-owner of ufc for dreamcast, i'm telling you, this is a big step up
yo dawg.. wait until you see the other 78 fighters, not to mention the badass homies u can create with the full version although.. im disappointed my man Randy Couture isn't in the roster.. there's only a handful of guys i would play with, like Rich Franklin, Rampage..and a few others...
