DONALD J. TRUMP’S NEW DEAL FOR BLACK AMERICA – WITH A PLAN FOR URBAN RENEWAL 'Nobody needs to tell African-Americans in this country that the old new deal from the Democratic Party isn’t working for them. In election after election, Democratic party leaders take African-American voters for granted and year after year the condition of Black America gets worse. The conditions in our inner cities today are unacceptable. Too many African-Americans have been left behind. African-Americans need a new deal from their next president. Donald Trump is proposing just that. The following are ten promises announced by Donald Trump on October 26, 2016 in Charlotte, NC that will define a new deal for Black America: 1. Great Education Through School Choice. We will allow every disadvantaged child in America to attend the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. School choice is the great civil rights issue of our time, and Donald Trump will be the nation’s biggest cheerleader for school choice in all 50 states. We will also ensure funding for Historic Black Colleges and Universities, more affordable 2 and 4-year college, and support for trade and vocational education. 2. Safe Communities. We will make our communities safe again. Every poor African-American child must be able to walk down the street in peace. Safety is a civil right. We will invest in training and funding both local and federal law enforcement operations to remove the gang members, drug dealers, and criminal cartels from our neighborhoods. The reduction of crime is not merely a goal – but a necessity. 3. Equal Justice Under the Law. We will apply the law fairly, equally and without prejudice. There will be only one set of rules – not a two-tiered system of justice. Equal justice also means the same rules for Wall Street. 4. Tax Reforms to Create Jobs and Lift up People and Communities. We will lower the business tax from 35 percent to 15 percent and bring thousands of new companies to our shores. We will also have a massive middle class tax cut, tax-free childcare savings accounts, and childcare tax deductions and credits. We will also have tax holidays for inner-city investment, and new tax incentives to get foreign companies to relocate in blighted American neighborhoods. We will empower cities and states to seek a federal disaster designation for blighted communities in order to initiate the rebuilding of vital infrastructure, the demolition of abandoned properties, and the increased presence of law enforcement. 5. Financial Reforms to Expand Credit to Support New Job Creation. We will have financial reforms to make it easier for young African-Americans to get credit to pursue their dreams in business and create jobs in their communities. Dodd-Frank has been a disaster, making it harder for small businesses to get the credit they need. The policies of the Clintons brought us the financial recession – through lifting Glass-Steagall, pushing subprime lending, and blocking reforms to Fannie and Freddie. It’s time for a 21stcentury Glass Steagall and, as part of that, a priority on helping African-American businesses get the credit they need. We will also encourage small-business creation by allowing social welfare workers to convert poverty assistance into repayable but forgive-able micro-loans. 6. Trade That Works for American Workers. We will stop the massive, chronic trade deficits that have emptied out our jobs. We won’t let our jobs be stolen from us anymore. We will stop the offshoring of companies to low-wage countries and raise wages at home – meaning rent and bills become instantly more affordable. We will tell executives that if they move their factories to Mexico or other countries, we will put a 35% tax on their product before they ship it back into the United States. 7. Protection from Illegal Immigration. We will restore the civil rights of African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and all Americans, by ending illegal immigration. No group has been more economically harmed by decades of illegal immigration than low-income African-American workers. Hillary’s pledge to enact “open borders,” – made in secret to a foreign bank – would destroy the African-American middle class. We will reform visa rules to give American workers preference for jobs, and we will suspend reckless refugee admissions from terror-prone regions that cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. We will use a portion of the money saved by enforcing our laws, and suspending refugees, to re-invested in our inner cities. 8. New Infrastructure Investment. We will leverage public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years, of which the inner cities will be a major beneficiary. We will cancel all wasteful climate change spending from Obama-Clinton, including all global warming payments to the United Nations. This will save $100 billion over 8 years. We will use these to help rebuild the vital infrastructure, including water systems, in America’s inner cities. 9. Protect the African-American Church. We will protect religious liberty, promote strong families, and support the African-American church. 10. America First Foreign Policy. We will stop trying to build Democracies overseas, wasting trillions, but focus on defeating terrorists and putting America First.
That's fair. I hope he does. It would be wonderful. Er, that grand goes to me, yes? Cause you didn't say who and l'm claiming it.( not on my taxes though. He will understand)
I hope most of you see through that crap. Trump is using the real economic and educational issues affecting the Black community as a opportunity to push through his tax and trade policies, on the premise of 'helping Blacks.' If Trump manages to bring traditional American jobs back to this country, his approval rating would be 80%.
He has said these tax and trade policies to White America too. He is telling Black America also. You don't have to support it, your choice.
The title of your original post Bliss is Trump's New Deal For Black America. I assumed these policies were intended to specifically benefit the Black community, otherwise why state it that way???? I just don't think he's going to do half of what he said. Equal justice under the law?? Make it easier for Black folk to get credit??lol Protect the African American church??? These are just warm hearted platitudes, not an agenda.
To do any of these things he will need to work with and play nice with congress. Now some of you here have been saying that because the gop will have a majority in both houses, 48 dems, 51 gop, 1 independent in senate, 193 dems, 237 gop in the house, that the gop should be able to do whatever they want, but you forget that to break a filibuster a supermajority (defined below) is needed. This will be the political strategy of choice for the dems to delay and frustrate Trump and the gop at every turn, hoping they can delay long enough for the midterm elections to roll around. This is my concern with Trump, he has been so caustic, so insulting and belittling to so many on the dems side of the house and to some in the gop that im very interested to see if and how he can mend those fences to actually get stuff done. Politicians carry serious grudges. http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/thepoliticalsystem/a/Supermajority-Vote.htm What is a Supermajority Vote? Simply stated, a "supermajority" vote is a vote that must exceed the number of votes comprising a "simple majority." For example, a simple majority in the 100-member Senate is 51 votes; while a 2/3 supermajority requires 67 votes. In the 435-member House of Representatives, a simple majority is 218 votes; while a 2/3 supermajority requires 290 votes. When is a Supermajority Vote Required? By far most measures considered by the U.S. Congress as part of the legislative process require only a simple majority vote for passage. However, some actions, like impeaching presidents or amending the Constitution, are considered so important that they require a supermajority vote. Measures or actions requiring a supermajority vote: Impeaching: In cases of impeachment of federal officials, the House of Representatives must pass articles of impeachment by a simple majority vote. The Senate then holds a trial to consider the articles of impeachment passed by the House. Actually convicting an individual requires a 2/3 supermajority vote of the members present in the Senate. (Article 1, Section 3) Expelling a Member of Congress: Expelling a member of Congress requires a 2/3 supermajority vote in either the House or Senate. (Article 1, Section 5) Overriding a Veto: Overriding a presidential veto of a bill requires a 2/3 supermajority vote in both the House and Senate. (Article 1, Section 7) Suspending the Rules: Temporarily suspending the rules of debate and voting in the House and Senate requires a 2/3 supermajority vote of the members present. (House and Senate rules) Ending a Filibuster: In the Senate only, passing a motion to invoke "cloture," ending extended debate or a "filibuster" on a measure requires a 3/5 supermajority vote - 60 votes. (Rules of the Senate) Rules of debate in the House of Representatives preclude the possibility of a filibuster. Note: On November 21, 2013, the Senate voted to require a simple majority vote of 51 Senators to pass cloture motions ending filibusters on presidential nominations for Cabinet secretary posts and lower federal court judgeships only. See: Senate Democrats Take the ‘Nuclear Option’ Amending the Constitution: Congressional approval of a Joint Resolution proposing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution requires a 2/3 majority of those members present and voting in both House and Senate. (Article 5) Calling a Constitutional Convention: As a second method of amending the Constitution, the legislatures of 2/3 of the states (33 states) can vote to request that the U.S. Congress convenes a constitutional convention. (Article 5) Ratifying an Amendment: Ratification of an amendment to the Constitution requires the approval of 3/4 (38) of the state legislatures. (Article 5) Ratifying a Treaty: Ratifying treaties requires a 2/3 supermajority vote of the Senate. (Article 2, Section 2) Postponing a Treaty: The Senate may pass a motion to indefinitely postpone its consideration of a treaty by a 2/3 supermajority vote. (Senate rules) Repatriating Rebels: An outgrowth of the Civil War, the 14th Amendment gives Congress the power to allow former rebels to hold office in the U.S. government. Doing so requires a 2/3 supermajority of both the House and Senate. (14th Amendment, Section 3) Removing a President from Office: Under the 25th Amendment, Congress can vote to remove the President of the United States from office if the vice president and the President's Cabinet declare the president unable to serve and the president contests the removal. The removal of the president from office under the 25th Amendment requires a 2/3 supermajority vote of both the House and Senate. (25th Amendment, Section 4) Note: The 25th Amendment is an effort to clarify the process of presidential succession.
It's a lofty goal and I would love to see it happen (especially if helps to lower some of the absolutely insane tuition rates at some schools) but the reality is that the Republicans who currently control Congress will never, ever let this happen. Depending on what he means by "equal justice" and how he plans to fix things, he needs to specify exactly what he's going to do to make this happen. Is he going to try to convince Congress to completely abolish mandatory minimum sentencing at the federal level? Is he going to try to go after the private prison system and make it less lucrative? And even if that happens most people in jail for the really serious violent felonies are in the custody of the various state prison systems, not the Bureau of Prisons. It's gonna be tough, if not impossible, to get states like Louisiana and Texas to amend their statutes to provide for more lenient sentences, assuming that's what he means. As far as the rest of his platform school choice, tax breaks/credits, it sounds like things that Republicans have been saying for decades now.
Exactly. Unless he has some way of hand-picking the Senate Majority Leader and the Speaker of the House, he will absolutely need to be in the good graces of Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, not to mention other senators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. Trump scorched a lot of earth in his own party during the primaries. It's like I said on another thread, Trump may call himself a Republican but he's not their Republican. He may have gotten some grudging support in order to keep Clinton out of office since they all had a mutual enemy, but now that she's out of the way? I'd say that all bets are off.
Yeah sure but it'll be in bitcoin Btw my stake is now worth 3 times what it was back in January. Get some
I'm willing to give President Elect Donald Trump a chance to prove himself. He has a small window to make good on his promises because the left and their media backers have declared war on the trumpster. My advise to President Elect Trump be careful who you bring into your orbit. If you must bring many into your orbit to heal the wounds remember what Don Corleone once said "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer". Scorched earth Donald, scorched earth, to get things done.
Most of these things that he has put in are already under the Obama administration and before that were in the Bush administration and before that Clinton and so on. What I have the biggest issue with is the 35% tax increase on companies going overseas. Who do you think they will be charging? You think they are going to take that out of the walmart employee's salary or the walmart executive? That is going to be passed on. and that is if Walmart doesn't lobby congress. This is little change and dubious on the things that are not already accomplished before even Obama got into office.
That would be awesome if even he achieved some of those goals. I'm not at all optimistic as I believe Trump has been showing us who he is for decades, and I just don't see any part that says humanitarian/dedicated public servant.

This is a real joke from a man who never spoke to a Black audiance before like the NAACP Convention or the Urban League. There are these Uncle Ruckuses who just hold signs. Doubt there would be a Black in his cabinet.
