I actually take no issue with someone attempting to change my mind on an issue, I just expect a pretty compelling statement as to why I should. However, one completely discredits himself when they take a zealot-like dogmatic approach such as he does and quotes and underlines everything that is said that supports his own stance whilst proclaiming it to be an indisputable truth. While at the same time completely rejecting any possibility of truth in the rebuttal from those who have differing views.

 

How pathetic do you have to be to shoot someone when you outweigh him by over 40 pounds?? People really call that self defense?? GTFO!!

Zimmerman's height is reported 5? 7? (1.70 m); and his weight is recorded as being 185 lb (84 kg) on his Seminole County Sheriff's Office Inmate Booking Information dated April 11, 2012

So my error, had it back to front, he was indeed 200pds that night.

I'm also seeing on the police report Trayvon's height at 6ft, 160 pounds. Victim: Juvenile (page 2 of 4)

So in a nutshell, 3 or 4 inches taller/shorter, 40 pound less/more and 9 yrs younger/older separated them that night. Oh, and a gun.

 

And he can't figure out why it is he catches heat from just about everyone here. We are just some intolerant individuals here in "Enemy Territory".:smt017

 

The police report literally assigns juvenile to the kid and yet Bookie is fighting to make him look like a man or adult. They further more assign adult to all the adults. Even the police saw him as a non adult.

He can & did refute several points in her piece. And as he has stated you have & will continue to ignore that bit of fact because it doesn't fit your reality.

I don't know about you, but when I was a teenager, I was afraid of and respectful of grown men, regardless of whether I was taller or not. Even now, I can pretty well assess true menace and am not quick to try someone just because they're shorter. I'm 6'0" and I know plenty of diesel 5'8" grown men who will kick my ass. And I'm a grown man myself.

It would be great if the conversation could stay elevated above personal attacks and hostility. I try not to insult the people on the rightwing of the political spectrum. If I have, it was never my intent.

I don't know about Florida, but MS-13 is a major Latino gang presence in Northern Virginia and D.C. I've always said that IMO Zimmerman looked like a straight up 'banger with the shaved head, goatee and red jacket he was wearing.

Nothing about him says neighborhood watch captain. Trayvon was right; George looked like a big time fucking CREEP.

There's no way I would be calm knowing this character was following me.

According to Zimmerman, the only word he said to Trayvon was 'nope'.
Do people really think Trayvon should have calmly explained to this stranger why he was in the neighborhood and given him his address for reference??lol

From my experience when you roll up on a stranger and you DON'T SPEAK and you're in too close in their personal space, a fight is about to go down.

Zimmerman whether he realizes it or not did everything to provoke a confrontation that night, which is exactly what he got.

There's no way Trayvon Martin was the more intimidating presence that night.

I love how no one understands our historically-shaped challenges, pathologies and deficiencies, but they understand perfectly the Irish v. English oppression, the Poles v. Russians & Germans, the Yugoslavian ethnic tension leading to the meltdown in the 90s. Their violence and social breakdown make sense. Ours? Oh we're just effing animals. Or we're not taking 'responsibility' for ourselves.
