Trayvon Martin's Murder

Yeah - they already did it on the hater site I like to whine about. I think it actually makes sense for them to do so since 5 white women were on the jury. Do you think there's really any viable value for white women and black men to be together Bliss, beyond just having sex, going shopping and buying things? Or is there more to lose than to gain out of it? I see any kind of interracial relationship here unlikely to be prosperous for me, not just with white women. Black women aren't perfect either (well - women generally I mean), so I guess relationships for us are a loss-loss situation no matter how you spin it.

The other unfortunate thing about the jury panel is that most states have a 6/12 jury panel, where 6 people have to vote in favor for a defendant to get a conviction. Unfortunately in Florida, it's a 6/6 jury panel, where all 6 of the jury members have to vote in favor to get a conviction.

Based on the profiles of the jurors, my personal opinion is that the prosecution may have convinced 3 out of 6 women to charge the defendant. 3 of them probably went against it, causing the state to fail.

 

I'm surprised there haven't been any riots or protests. Cooler heads to prevail.

Well, I knew he was going to get off. The prosecution seemed weak in my opinion.

Hell, they probably thought Zimmerman was innocent too...

But if the cops who beat Rodney King got off, even though the whole thing was VIDEOTAPED, why be surprised?

What really bothers me is how I've seen comments on other sites about this "really isn't a big deal" because blacks kill each other every day and it's not a big deal.

Seeing all the crime in my hometown (Chicago) validates what some think. I'm sick and tired of all the black on black crime. SICK OF IT.

It all comes back to us. When we start respecting ourselves only then can we start to expect respect from others.

But even with that said, I'm still ENRAGED because some idiots will think I'M a thug and can shoot ME because of the actions of others, AND GET AWAY WITH IT.

The outrage needs to be pointed directly at Chicago. When little fucking kids, infants, and grandmothers are being SHOT, the Nat'l Guard needs to go in there and dust up some of those gangs.

 

I don't think there are going to be riots over this. It's always the second incident that pushes people over the edge.

The michael dunn verdict will be the riot. They're cooking it up as we speak.

First the latasha harlins killing (accused of stealing, yanked around, shot in the back of the head by merchant, all caught on video. merchant found guilty and gets $200 fine, no jail time). Thirteen days after merchant's verdict, the rodney king video. Subsequently, the rodney king verdict. Then the riot.

Now the trayvon incident and how it was handled. Then the trayvon verdict. Next up - michael dunn verdict. Then the violence. :smt096

 

Cannondale,the right wingers alway mentioned your city almost every day to divert attention on the Martin killing by Mr.Z. I'm upset as well since those people: the Black gangs,White guys w guns and Police are all after Black males. Hope there is a 'janitor' to clean the hoods over there by having very strong gun control laws against all people of Illinois with guns since Blacks don't have the money for distribution and ownership of gun factories. To those conservatives why don't you take some gang members unless they are really 'chicken hawks in the hood'.

 

It's funny: they'll bring up Chicago and all the killings, but they neglect to mention how the JAILS are FULL of black men convicted of killing those other black men.

All we want is justice. YES, we are TIRED of the black on black crime, but we are also tired of people (who happen to be non-black) getting away with murder also.

No the hell you don't, Arch. If moderators flexed any 'moderator muscle' around here, you'd be one of the first ones to post about the oppressive moderators around here.

Let me remind you, moderators simply boot trolls within 30 days of their joining this board. The job of the moderator is not to police the board, that is the responsibility of all of the community. At least, that's what my understanding was when I signed up.

If you'd have us do more, if you expect us to represent more, lets leave that open to discussion. When it gets to the point that I can't play with the kids anymore (that would be you), I'll happily turn in my moderator badge. The outrage needs to be pointed at black communities everywhere, the government has shown time and time again that they either a) it is not on their agenda, or b) they are wholly incapable of reducing crime in our communities. At a point, we have to stop pointing the finger at the government and look at our own mentality toward our own communities. I have first hand witnessed church programs and extracurricular programs born in the ghettos that have reformed gang members. We need more of those... we need more empathy among our own people.

Expecting a corrupted government that created the gangs and who's system continues to feed them is sickening. To go in and 'fix' the problem is ridiculous. I'd sooner have the National Guard take out the record labels that employ the 'artists' who promote black on black crime. The theme music that glorifies what has become the plight of an unemployed / underprivileged people. The entire mentality of black people, both those still in the ghetto's... and those who have 'made it' needs to change.
