    not together

Seems like I remember hearing they were supposed to be engaged in the movie. Couldn't say where I heard it. But they definitely weren't together in the film. I think they were both in the same scene a few times and they barely acknowledged each other.

    yeah that's it

    that's what I read

maybe it was cut from the film. I checked google & she's mentioned as being in the film as far back as 2006, but there's no mention on her imdb page. oh well.

Hollyweird needs to get wit the 'IR' program. Actually, Hollyweird leaves a big need to be satisfied by some enterprising individual.

you know you seen that joint 3 times in a row, playa

i still can't get over how bad they had Halle looking in it...

hollywood needs to get "Real" and start giving us some more IR, and the media in general needs to have more IR material in our commercials.

    :)

I would like to see one of those car commercials, that show couples with smiles holding up the keys to a new honda or something, be interracial

I saw that monster's ball scene and it beats out (of course) bm, ww IR in films that was intense as hell!! And it caught on ever since that scene with all other kinds couples in movies like "The Black Dahlia", "Unfaithful", "We Own The Night". That is the thing that urkes me with hollywood, you know they aren't allow that kind of scene go down wit bm & ww onscreen independent & mainstream. Anything to get away from having to go the bm&ww way with a movie.

But Halle did catch flack for the scene too...besides winning an Oscar for showing her AZZ :!:

Yeah but that didn't stop her. I don't know maybe it means mainstream black actors are more scared of black women than they black actresses are scared of black men.

Until Hollywood is comfortable showing BM and BW together....we won't see much in the way of BM and WW.

Many WM, WW and even some BM are just not ready to see (insert good-looking BM star) hop on top of Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, etc.

What you may be suggesting is that Hollywod isn't comfortable with black male sexuality period and there is some truth to that. Still Hollywod isn't as much as uncomfortable with BM and BW together as it is disinterested with the concept. Black romance/black love has never captivated Hollywood nor the world for that matter. Masybe if its done right....

Perhaps but you also better add BW sure ain't ready and may never be at this rate. But do you wait until every damn person is ready? There are so many folks who still aren't ready for gay relationships and gay sex on their TV screens or on the movie screns and these folks may be more vocal than those who are against interracial stuff. And yet gay themes films or shows with gay charactes and gay relationships increasing pop up in rates greater than IR relationships involving black people. Hell doesn't like every HBO show have a gay character or something?

as dave chapelle so eloquently put it...the bane of the "white man," is the black man's penis..

hollywood can't feature us in too many movies that showcase our deep relationship skills, afterall, we're just sexual t00ls....

get us in some more movies about police officers who are corrupt, and get innocent white cops to join their corruption, and maybe we'll get a few more oscars

    :p

People been ready with the success of movies like save the last dance, "O" and "As you like it" which was nominated at the golden globes, that shows right there the hollywood foreighn press who runs the golden globes are supporters because "As you like it" is an interracial flick that was on HBO(didn't get a chance to check it out). So it is very obvious they(racist in hollywood) are just blaming the public with nothing to go by, because hollywood is known for pushing the buttons, but just don't want to push this button in mainstream hollywood, Even more proof that it is hollywood and not the public. The only problem and as to why it will never get resolve is like I said people who knows the truth is afraid to speak up on the truth. Like I always said hollywood needs an kanye west like actor out there, because I mean as an art we still have not touched upon IR movies about what happened with the slaves and white women, Interracial in the 60s, Sammy Davis j.r. story, numerous of IR stories from the last two decades. Hell they did an gay 60's romance before they even went for even went for the loving case story.

Bottom Line Someone needs to make a move and make an important interracial movie or speak up on this racist shit.

    lol..

i just got finished watching "Life," with eddie murphy and martin lawrence..

in the movie, Bokeem Woodbine ( a young black actor ), knocks up some white guy's daughter...

the white guy finds out about this, because his daughter gave birth inside their mansion, and the baby turned out to be black..

so..the white guy goes to the prison line up to see who's baby it was...

needless to say, he never found out who the daddy was, but Bokeem and the white girl stared at each other, nonchalantly..

that part of the movie was around 1940-ish, but you did have IR mixings way before that..

personally, knowing what I know, I would not have done it, because of the severe and sometimes fatal penalties, associated with IR mixing back in those days...

as for hollywood.... the day you see Angelina Jolie with a black boyfriend/husband on-screen, is the day Obama runs for his 2nd term as US president

    :)

Officer J you hit it on the head, 'specially the stereotypes!
As far as bm/ww relationships and steamy scenes - you just gotta look deeper, from back in the day with Jim Brown. You should hear what Raqel Welch had to say about their love scene, to movies like the Company with Ellen Burstyn and Lawrence Fishburne, and there is some other movie with Bookeem Woodbine and some blond actress that is pretty big where they are in a relationship, then in that kids movie Holes they got a more romantic type love story that develops between Dule' Hill and Patricia Arquete that takes place in the 1800's Texas - the ladies would like it I think girls check it out Holes. So let me think and more will pop into my head like Kieth David and Markie Post are a married couple in Something About Mary, does anyone remeber Markie Post from Night Court  she was still fine in Something About Mary - looked better than Cameron Diaz! Hey and while we are on Hollywierd, and knowing that I'm mixed so I see the world from my perspective, usually. Do you peeps remember the Jefferson's? How is it that the Willis' kids (they had two) came out one white the son and the other the daughter is black? What the hell were they thinking, why not just get Helen Willis' real life son Lenny Kravitz to play the part of one of the kids? Did they expect people to buy this bs? Just some funny shit they think up, but then again Ricky and Lucy didn't even sleep in the same bed!?!
