No comment on what he said, but I don't like Toure.

He embraces the commodification of Black culture and fronts like one of its experts. Maybe he is a guru on Black pop culture, but is there not something obsequious about being the medias go to guy for all things supposedly Black?

Cain is the latest diversion. He was the former president of one of the federal reserve banks, no surprise he's being kept around.

I couldn't open the clip but read the article. I think it's baloney. WM may wonder why WW choose BM over them and/or may not like it, but do they fear that BM may dominate WW? Please.

I have only ever had one guy who gave me a hard time about dating a BM and that was because he himself was interested in me. He just wanted to know what the BM had that he didn't. I simply wasn't interested in him. No chemistry. But he wasn't angry or offended. Just disappointed and puzzled.

As an IT major, this intrigues me. As a result of this breakthrough, hopefully in a few months this issue w/ Cain will fade away and people would forget about it at some point next year if Cain actually makes it and becomes the nominee. It looks like Cain's campaign may in fact stay afloat in 2012 and he may be able to retain his lead against Romney and the others.

 

That is truly the height of sad and pathetic. I guess folks are indeed wired differently.

What someone like him doesn't grasp is no amount of jealousy, insecurity or bitterness will change one iota. What does his pissing and moaning accomplish, zero, zip, zilch, nada.

I've often been of the frame of thought that someone else's personal life is not my business on such issues.

Some folks just can't help or get over their ego issues, too bad for them.

I like what I like, no changing that when all is said and done.

Toure is exactly right in his discussion of the long, deeply rooted issues of interracial relationships/miscegenation laws/gyneolatry in American history. There is no doubt that after Reconstruction and throughout the Civil Rights movement, there was deep rooted fear of the "black brute" being violent, dominant and sexual with white women was a huge issue.

It was the cause for the resurgence of the KKK and the more upper-class, elite white organization such as the White Citizens Council. Toure's view is historically accurate as seen by the case of Emmit Till and the myriad of black men who were lynched, abused, etc. for even being suspected of touching a white woman. That is not a coincidence.

Often times the "pissed of white man" is viewed, especially in this forum, as a some type of rare, sad, pathetic individual with personal issues. While in some sense this is true, they are also a product of social environment/forces.

Of course, with Herman Cain - I'm not sure if that is yet an issue. The story will have to continue to develop.

 

No doubt this is well rooted in historical conditions of this nation.

The difference is even if there are those who object to it we still see more and more black men and white women continuing to have relationships if they so desire.

This contrasts with the past where a black man risked death for such choices in life.

It is why the individuals today who hold on to those rancorous views that brought about the KKK resurgence and the White Citizens Council are deemed as pathetic and frustrated that the world doesn't adhere to their views any longer.

Frankly I view them as giant babies that are just upset they cannot stop black men and white women from being involved like they once could. Therein lies the ultimate frustration for those who hold such views.

 

If a WM is intimidated by a BM being with a WW, it can be reasonably be deduced that he has race issues. Taking that into account, he likely views the black race as lesser or inferior to whites. Given that, it makes sense that he'd feel intimidated or upset when a WW tells him that she she prefers someone whom he feels lesser than himself over him.

 

Precisely. But why would he feel intimidated IF he feels that that race is Sooooo inferior to himself? That is what I have always felt so curious -it almost makes me laugh inside...

 

I'm with GQBrotha onthis one. I'm tired of the over-objectifying of bm/ww relationships, be it done by wm or anyone else, including bm and ww. Who cares? The truth of the anti-miscegenation (Ugh, I hate that term) is that is simultaneously revolting and arousing some of these same wm: hence the cuckolding phenomena in IR porn, which is clearly not designed for black men or white women. It is all mixed up with white racial and racist attitudes that view black people as subhuman and also with the latent misogyny that is a part of the culture (all cultures have some degree of misogyny, but I'm just saying in this case), hence the extreme attitudes toward women exemplified in these flicks.

I say go ahead and laugh at them, it is all those folks are worthy of.

That the biggest consumers of interracial porn are white males and its not just because they are the larger social population, should tell us something. Those videos are geared to them. As a black man I have no vested interest in cuckolding, so we know who such videos cater to. I think no doubt that there is some dichotomy at work in such men.

This is why folks who think that way are simply worth being laughed at for it is their own unresolved issues that they will either come to grips with or have to live with it every day.

Nothing is more pathetic than to watch someone go off on some rant about things they can't actually control.

The funniest are those who think they know why any white woman and black man are together and they throw out every stereotype they can muster. Fumbling, bumbling, stumbling for rationalizations that can placate their own egos when in the end it doesn't really matter.
