It's no surprise. This happen so often among retired b-ball players. Cant have a 30million mansion, paying light bills,groceries, 3cars & you don't have a steady in come, no matter how rich you are. You'll only keep losing money.
Its fucked up when a person has to file for bankruptcy, but I find it hard to feel any sympathy for people who had millions, but some how fucked up and are broke. If I win the lottery right now for $400 Im still gonna keep my day job and l spend wisely. Buy a nice car (not a lambo or maseratti) probably a Bmw, but a penthouse suite and sit on the rest of that shit. I can understand when a millionaire goes bankrupt for making a bad investment or divorce or something, but when they do it for having shitty spending habits fuck'em.
